Do your biceps ever get sore?

LCBUTLER

New member
Seems like no matter what I do my biceps never get sore. Triceps seem to get sore easily.

If you have a good bi routine I would like to see it.

Thanks,

LC

what r u doing now???i do straight bar curls with the olympic bar and some other accesory(change when get bored),when i get bored of that and i can't get that pump i change to heavy d/b curls.:mix:

It appears that you believe that soreness is an indicator that growth has been stimulated. Just because your not sore doesn't mean your routine is bad.

Yeah I am the same way bro... no matter how hard I train my biceps they rarely get sore. But then again my triceps get TOTALLY SORE just from training them with moderate intensity.. Wierd huh?

:confused::confused:

I do heavy e-z bar curls (strait BB curls are very hard on my tendonitis)

Standing DB curls
Incline DB curls
One arm cable curls
etc..

I know that soreness does not really indicate if you are going to grow or not, just curious if anyone gets sore biceps after a good arm day. I am pretty sure my routine is good, arms are growing anyway, just wanted some feedback on soreness.

Thanks for the reply

my biceps seem to be my fastest recovering muscle, i.e. they may feel sdore the day i exercise em, the next day usually fine

they are also my slwest developing

usually my biceps get sore when i change routines or if i take a week off then lift them again. a routine i really like is
seated alternating dumbell curls: 4 X 8 reps each arm with really heavy weight that someone helps u with the last rep
standing barbell curls: 4 X 8
overhead cable curls: 4 X 8

Same problem with me my biceps hardly ever get sore. They gotten sore about three times in the last year, once just last week. But triceps are often sore for up to three days.

My biceps never get sore, and are my best bodypart by far.

Triceps get sore merely by looking at a tri pushdown machine. Calves are the same way. Chest and back get sore pretty easily too.

sounds like you got the best of both worlds, i would NOT be complaining or even questioning it :)

My biceps get sore but my shoulders never do (traps do too though). How many sets and exercises do you currently do for 'em? I've found that if I do too many sets for bi's then I can't go intense enough. I lowered the sets to 6 total with 2 exercises and my intensity went way up and my bi's were much more sore the next day.

Finally, someone I can relate with! Mine NEVER get sore... I almost always feel it the next day in my forearms and right in the bend of my arm, but near the peak of the bicep... NEVER! What gives? I've tried preacher curls, reverse curls, straight bar, e-z bar, negatives, strips, pyramiding... they just seem to lag... and they are very weak at that!

:(

Why sore?

After an intense workout, it is commonplace to feel a slight amount of irritation or discomfort the day after. One should not be so sore that it interferes with one's every day functions nor should you "cringe" when someone touches your muscles. The muscles should feel tense, tight and well-worked and still pumped.
If you continue with this type of feeling and result after you workouts you have just won a major battle that most are losing....... overtraining!!!!! It will kill you chances of getting as large as you really want.

maxmuscle: I agree, except when it comes to legs. Most of my bodyparts get sore to the point that it's kind of a nice feeling. HOWEVER, when I do heavy squats and heavy leg presses together (and sometimes leg extensions) my legs do sometimes get so sore that standing up after a lengthy period of sitting down is almost painful (but not in a bad way per se). I don't think i'm overtraining legs either as I give them a full week to recover (or more if they need it) and my strength goes up on squats and presses pretty much every workout.

I can probably beat my shoulders with a balpeen hammer and they wont be sore the next day, I don't know what they're problems are. Biceps are the same. Rarely anymore will i get a slight soreness the next day, triceps are the same way. However chest and back are almost always sore. I just started doing legs again, and my legs were sore for like 5 days after, and then when i went to do them again, they werent too bad anymore after that. I dunno.

man thats 12 sets for bi's? you seem to do alot of high volume sets

cut that back to standing bb curls 3x8
and incline db curls or hammer curls 3x8

I usually never get sore on my biceps but right now they r killing me because i worked out with a guy with 21 inch arms and he made me do all this crazy shit that just made me in more pain that I have ever been in before.

my biceps rarely get sore, but my triceps get sore after every workout. I'm still progressing every workout with biceps so thats all that counts.

I added single arm cable curls using the bottom pulley on the machine after reading Levrone or someone mention it in an old magazine. For the first time in a LONG time my bi's were sore.

Try some intensity tecniques breakdown sets, trisets, going down the rack, ect. if you work hard enough they will get sore.

My biceps never get sore either, they might feel dull and tired, maybe, but never really sore like the calfs or chest does.
Hey! I guess biceps must be designed to take huge amount of punishments.
I tried to combine and rotate by doing barbels, dumbells (one arm at the time), hammers and cable pull-ups for a good pump both in the positive and negative. I only employ weight/tension that would allow me to do 6 or 8 reps. max! I used the negative technique almost always, making the hardest resistance when coming down. By the time I'm done my arms get a rubber-like sensation, and usually I can't even do a couple of bar pull-ups.
Corsaire,
