i know steroids would be helpful in sports like baseball or footbal where power and size are important. i have never understood how they would be helpful in endurance sports, like bikeriding, or running.

do some steroids make you run faster, or pedal longer and harder? or is just increasing muscle to perform such tasks?

there are even rampant rumors of AAS use in pro tennis. boris becker was blasted for making this statement once.
Some AAS increase red blood cell count, like EQ and Anadrol. Which can have a positive effect on endurance and stamina.

I think for things like the olympics they should have both clean and steroid using events and we will let the people see which group of athletes is more entertaining to watch.
Athletics are so much more interesting when we can see people do super human feats. I say we see how far people can push the limit.

Fuck ethics!

That's true, but the major drug used for this purpose is erythropoietin (EPO). It is a hormone that is secreted by the kidneys and regulates the production of red blood cells.

When referring to professional sports and competition, AAS and other performance enhancing drugs come with the territory. I don't feel this is a matter or right or wrong but I do feel that the people whom do compete drug free deserved to be applauded for their integrity and dedication. No body ever said it was the "all natural olympics."

AAS seem to have pervaded so many pro sports it is doubtful there will ever be a time they will not be. actually, as drugmakers come up with newer and better steroids, use will only increase.

why wouldn't they. who really cares anyways?

athletes? hell no. not if they can take a drug to increase their chances of success, glory, and endorsements. coaches? why would they when their player/team has a better chance of winning. promoters? not when they have can increase their ticket sales/ratings.

the only people who really seem to care are the press and thier phony moral standards. meanwhile they sell magazines writing about the steroids. people love reading about athletes testing positive for AAS use. make us feel superior. who doesnt love a good scandal?

steroids are here to stay. look at all of us normal guys who gladly take them. if a pro athlete did not have the underlying talent to succeed no drug is going to help them.

It's against the rules so of course it's cheating. Is it right to ban them? No.
As far as other countries not having access, well, they don't have access to our training facilities either unless their countries send them over here. So unless we bring all those athletes here there will never be a level playing field. Why doesn't that bother anyone?
If you're going to ban AS then you should ban the space suits as well.

None of us were created equal naturally but with a little help of some gear and some hard work I feel we can take it upon ourselves to level that playing feild that was never level in the first place. My 2 cents
