Do you have problems taking orders?

There's something mindless and simple about just being told what to do everyday - I mean how hard is that?
You just can't think about it or rationalize - just do, move on, do some more and go home, sleep, lather, rinse repeat.

If you don't know how to do your job and you need to be told what to do then you have problems. Assuming you already know how to do your job.

There is a balance... I mean there is a natural hierarchy in everything... we all answer to someone directly or indirectly, that said, yeah I was in the military and had the attitude of resentment from taking orders from some peeps I thought I was smarter than, but I got over it... luckily I had a practical 'sage' or chief that I had to answer too, who was a very good man, I got lucky... however, I used to think that taking orders and following them was for lame peeps, and individuality and defiance rocked... now as I get older I've come to appreciate working up through the hierarchy and developing qualities like loyalty and duty, two things that seem to be disappearing as values imbedded in our cultural narrative... where -fake- individualism is being sold and so deep woven into all aspect of culture...
Would I go into the military and do it all over, yeah I would say so, taught me alot about respect, duty, patience, and just valuing indpendence...

it depends who'd talking to me and the level of respect I have for them. When I have respect it means they are treating me properly and doing their job efficently so taking "orders" is no problem. You listening to your boss also sets a good precedent for the people that answer to you. Because sometimes being a follower is a way of being a leader.

I know I could never be in the military.

Lieutenant: "Attack FFOS"

FFOS: "How about you kiss my ass, instead?"

lol yeah I'm not that good at orders either; especially when I see a better way to do something. Oh well, you either put up working for someone else or work for yourself.

EH, most people have the type of job where they are given daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly tasks or goals.

If you work for someone else your boss or manager will in one way or another tell you what to do or give orders.

The easier the job (less thinking) the easier it is to just do what you are told.

The problems start when you are more versed and successful in your field than your boss/manager and you stop being able to hold your tongue.

:whatever:

I think we (myself included) often make things more complicated then necessary.
