Do you feel sorry for the people in New Orleans that died?

I think you guys may be reading a little too much into his post.

His thinking (which I do see his point to a certain extent) it's not like somebody detonated a dirty bomb while the folks down in the bayou were sleeping. Katrina was kind enough to give them a 7 day notice before she unleashed her shit.

There were city busses driving all around the city for 24-48 hours picking up anybody who wasnt able to make their own way to safety...either to high ground (hotels, etc) or to the Superdome. Old folks, poor folks, everybody. The citizens were warned of the impact the storm would have, but it is a fact that many, many people chose to stay put. Why? Many didnt think it would be a big deal. I just got done reading a story about a man who's entire family on his wife's side (aunts, cousins, nephews, etc) just didnt think that the storm would be such a big deal.

To make myself clear...is it sad they died? Yes, definately. Do I feel sorry for them and their families? Yes, definately. But you have to admit that for some people (not many, not all, but some) it was their own irresponsability and hard-headed attitude that led to their demise. Does that make their deaths any less unfortunate? No, not at all.

I see Fast Twitch Fiber's point, I may not agree with it 100%, but I think he just didnt word it in a way that is best fitting for the current situation.
i didnt read all that bullshit *edit* im done ranitng about that faggot

Maybe if you read what I wrote you may think different.

I said I dont agree with what he wrote, but I think that many people overlooked the reasoning behind it. It's more convinient to dismiss him as a heartless, cruel, child raping bastard considering what has transpired to the unfortunate folks who have been injured in the storm...so if thats what you want to do then so be it.

Dont let your anger at what he wrote carry over to my post as well. What he said and how he said it was uncalled for and he deserves what hes getting...but it does bring up an interesting aspect that many people have probably overlooked considering the tragedy taking place.

Thats all I was saying.

Its not about placing blame, that was not my intention. It's about exploring the reasoning behind conscious decisions. Whether it be sentimental, territorial, or whatever...its an interesting occurance that is not only isolated to this particular event.

I was referring to his post.

I feel bad for the elderly and the pets who were left behind.

I'd kill the people who dumped their pets...and wouldn't feel one bit guilty for ending them.
I don't know if you heard, but the city told everyone they'd be cited and fined if they abandoned their pets -- but it was also absolutely forbidden to take them with you to an evacuation center (like, duh). Now what do you do? Call up the vet and say "I need you to put Fluffy down before the hurricane gets here"???

In all honesty, set them free. It it gets that desperate and you cannot take your pets. Free them. I've spoken with a woman who goes into disaters for animals. You would be AMAZED at the people who will leave their home, take their clothes and leave Fluffy pinned up inside, chained up in the backyard, in a cage. No chance with rising water.
