lol, we're disagreeing more than you think. I run a neuro lab during the day and a sleep/neuro lab as a night tech and coordinator.
1. GP's know their stuff way more than people give them credit for, if they dont refer you, you dont even satisfy the DSM-IV requirements for diagnosis. I've posted those requirements 2x now.
2. If a case is clear cut, you dont need a specialist. This will lessen the bog down of the entire medical system, when proper referrals and needsless ones are filtered.
3. Adult onset seems more to do with depression of activity in the pre-frontal cortex than childhood ADHD. (check the link I posted)
4. Go to your GP, get a referral. If they dont give you one, go get a second opinoin. There's nothign wrong with doing that.
