We had a kitten who scratched my daughter and gave her cat scratch disease. That was quite an ordeal. Lasted about 2 years.

She had a host of problems brought on by the disease. Mainly it affected her lymph nodes in her neck and behind her ears. They swole up so large until the ruptured in the middle of the night.

We practically camped out at the Infectious Diease doctor's doorstep during the whole ordeal. I never want to go through that again.

wow...never knew that was true...i will look at cats differently now.

you know, i always thought cat scratch fever was a myth......i had a new cat every summer when i was a kid and now im shocked i never got it....cuz i was mean to cats.....
one time i was play housing and my cat was the baby..and i put salt in a spoon and put a bit of water in it and fed it to the cat......she threw up like 2 mins later.....i never did that again
