Dislocated Shoulder :(

Sadly four weeks ago I was shoulder pressing and I felt discomfort in my left shoulder and then it popped out straight down. The weight then rested on my shoulders I was only two or three inches off my shoulder thankfully and I was able to drop them without injuring myself more. A trainer relocated my arm within a minute or two of this happening and this is my first time my arm dislocated.

I went to the doctors and had an X-ray no bone damage so it's been about a month and I haven't lifted a thing. After a week and a half I regained full rom of my arm although it was still slightly tender. Sadly I am unable to get an appt to see a physical therapist until 6 weeks in or so which is really discouraging because they are booked tight.

I was wondering if I feel no discomfort in my arm, and practice/perform some therapy steps I read within a work sheet that the doctor gave me for shoulder dislocations how long should I wait until I start light weight lifting again. It is pain for me to be out of the gym and not even running :/ and not able to see my doctor for a few more weeks. My muscles seem tight and I have no pain or damage, thankfully none of my muscles or ligaments were damaged, but I am taking it very easy so I do not reinjure my shoulder.

eek just be careful
the risk of re-dislocation is high once youve done it one time
your ligaments are indeed strained/stretched and your joint a little more lax than it was prior to the injury
ive dislocated both shoulders numerous times but probably because I never had proper treatment and rehab
i would look up rehab exercises for shoulder rehab online and see what you can do on your own
but dont push it
these things take longer to heal than you might think

you need to REST. No joke when it comes to shoulder dislocation. REST. and then when you think you've rested long enough, REST some more before you get back to the gym.

yeah bro, i just blew mine out for the 4th time, and I wish I would have used better rest and rehab tactics before going to the gym again.

after #2 and #3 dislocations I was able to return to the gym within two weeks and lift heavy witihin a month. It's not smart, but I felt like I had to.
Anyways, im having surgery soon, so i'll just push myself till i gotta get the op.
w/e time to pay for my mistake
