Sadly four weeks ago I was shoulder pressing and I felt discomfort in my left shoulder and then it popped out straight down. The weight then rested on my shoulders I was only two or three inches off my shoulder thankfully and I was able to drop them without injuring myself more. A trainer relocated my arm within a minute or two of this happening and this is my first time my arm dislocated.
I went to the doctors and had an X-ray no bone damage so it's been about a month and I haven't lifted a thing. After a week and a half I regained full rom of my arm although it was still slightly tender. Sadly I am unable to get an appt to see a physical therapist until 6 weeks in or so which is really discouraging because they are booked tight.
I was wondering if I feel no discomfort in my arm, and practice/perform some therapy steps I read within a work sheet that the doctor gave me for shoulder dislocations how long should I wait until I start light weight lifting again. It is pain for me to be out of the gym and not even running :/ and not able to see my doctor for a few more weeks. My muscles seem tight and I have no pain or damage, thankfully none of my muscles or ligaments were damaged, but I am taking it very easy so I do not reinjure my shoulder.
