Discuss: Ronnie Coleman disses barbell curls

About the 'ask the champ' Q&A's...

I think they often 'combine' common questions into one mail - that is, the exact words in a mail is not authentic but they represent common questions asked in the mails they receive. In many cases (I know that's common in a lot of magazines, outside the BB world) an editor contacts the 'champ' over the phone and hears his view, then writes the answer for the column with his (the editors) own words.

Its funny cause in other issues of Flex, Ronnie says bb curls are an 'indespensible exercise'

lol. Bbing mags are brutal... for the most part.

Yes... everybody's always making noise about how their biceps movement is the best. This article, whether Ronnie or not, is no different. What he's saying is, "Cable curls work better for me, and here's my reasons why everybody should do them!"

Newsflash: a curl is a curl is a curl. The only things you can change are the way the weight is applied and whether your hand is pronated or supinated. None of it probably matters all that much.

since were talkin about switching barbell curls with crossover curls, lets try pec dec instead of bencpress, and leg ext instead of squats.. then we'll all could be Mr Olympia. ;)

i've seen some of that before in flex by Ronnie. But it was more saying that the pundage on the bar (weight) has nothin to do with mass gaining it s all about the contraction from the exercise. I won't throw out my barbell curls bro i love them they work great for me. I guess you have to look at what works for you.
