Digital Cable Descrambler

Has anyone used one yet?

I see them sold on web sites like this:

but I get the ads via unsolicited spam.. so as always I am not too confident in it.

Has anyone used one successfully?

ive read a few tweaker boards who say the only way to descramble is with a computer.

to elaborate, when the buy option is used it is stored in the flashable memory, but also there is a check signal sent to the box to make sure that this is the proper selection, if someone were to try to simply descramble the signal there would be no reply back and they would know.

These cable descramblers they are saying work for digital are simply digital boxes that have been "chipped" which has been shown to not work, the cable company has more control with digital signals then with analog signals for basic tv, with basic the signal is constantly there and constantly available all you have to do is filter the input, with the digital signal there are processes that are run, to make sure the proper selection is made.

I have cox digital cable and bought a filter off ebay for $14 . We ordered a few test movies and they didn't show up so we ordered playboy 24/7. The problem is they send updates to the box and the filter blockes them and the box locks up. the only way to unlock it is to take the filter off and then all the PPV movies get sent. We got charged like $200. I don't like them.

You were supposed to reset BEFORE removing filter and then get it unlocked. That's where you went wrong. You need to get reset instructions if you don't already have them. I think you didn't have them. Or didn't follow thru with them.
