Diamond commercials really piss me off..

Someone willing to produce GIA certification or back his own grading. Allow you to get an independent appraisal and grading with a no questions money back guarantee.

You have to shop around also. Trust the dealer. It’s like buying a car. If they see you are a rookie they will rape you dry. Then again, if you know a little it can hurt you too. They’ll see this and blow so much sunshine up your ass about how smart you are you’ll get screwed that way too.

Go to a large reputable dealer. Word of mouth works well but make sure the word is not from a dope. Ask women with rings, they love to yack yack yack about them.

What state are you in? I don’t mean a confused state either…

So where do you go to find a nice ring without getting ripped off?

That's the Russian lab diamonds. They CAN be detected but not by eye. 20/20 are alarmist when it comes to stories and really are bad with the facts.

A jewelry store will NEVER buy or certify an IF stone as real anyway. Something like that has to be sent to GIA.

They also have 1/4 karat and up now. Colors, shapes, and whatever the general market demands.

Nope its an American company owned by a vietnam vet.
20/20 took the man-made diamonds to 10 different eperts throughout the world, no one could tell a difference.

That's interesting. Expect them to creep into the market as soon as some Asian company steals / copies the technology. Diamond prices will plummet until they get some type of serial number system that is lasered directly onto the diamond that can be verified. Does that mean in that case that all existing diamonds are deemed suspect once this happens?

This is the same problem that occurred when they started copying old US coins that were worth about $500+ each. Drove the prices of them into the ground. When you now buy them you expect a 50/50 chance and the depressed price reflects it.

Yeah, Nightline did a piece on the same company from the flip-side, the diamond wars and how much this guy is risking his life.

He's got a full time staff of e-delta dudes guarding him and he has said his two goals are to stop the diamond wars and remove the monopoly currently established.

That sounds like a good thing... If he is so serious about it then release the technology on the internet. Unless his main goal is to just make money.

Well, I'm sure he wants to make a few million before he starts getting extreme, if he plans on being THAT extreme at all.

I'm sure he's getting serious dough in bribes to hold back his diamonds because they haven't hit the market yet.

Knowing how our African mining operations are concerned with life and welfare I am surprises with Mercs and all he is still alive.

I wish him the best of luck
