Dextrose

pintoca said:
You should be able to get it pure. Don't make the mistake some people do when for example they swap Maltodextrine for Splenda... (because splenda is 98% maltodextrine)

Dextrose is dextrose, you can only get it pure

Where can you buy this??? I am new to the dieting thing and although Ive done research and been tweaking my diet, one thing ive learned that its missing is dextrose after my workouts... i walked into gnc to see if they had anything... and the guy never even heard of it!!!

how much do YOU use? Stats?

Me, I am on a "permanent cutting cycle" until I get to the 9% I am looking for. I calculate that to be about August this year.

I started not so long ago, but have spent a considerable amount of time reading/researching and doing what I have learned. Result is that I have dropped 50 pounds in 4.5 months with negligible muscle losses.

Right now I am still fat, but better by the day (I am at 215lbs, 6' and 28%BF), on average I'm losing about 900 grs fat per week and 100 ~ 150 grs LBM.

I posted my history here also somewhere.

I use 50 grs Whey, 25 grs Dextrose and 25 grs Maltodextrine every day (even on the 2 days I only do cardio). All this in 1 liter water. Drink the first half right away, the second half over a half hour period (to avoid insuline spikes) and about 1 hour later, I have my dinner (protein and fats, no carbs).

Check out this graph... http://www.ccfiles.de/progress_27jan2005.jpg

This is my progress until today, see how that black line (Kg Fat) keeps going down while the yellow line (LBM) remains steady? :-) this makes my day everytime I see it.

That graph is VERY impressive pintoca. I'd like to see your diet but unfortunately I can't read Spanish.

Anyway... back to the topic... I am a bit of a perfectionist, so I keep some kitchen scales on the kitchen table and measure the exact amount I need each time. :)

Thanks man, it's become quite the hobby to feed the data every 2 days and see it grow... I have a key translation for my diet, if you are interested, just PM me and I will send it.

I do more or less the thing you do, but I only measure once, then I just repeat what I did.

In Germany, you can get dextrose in Supermarkets, in the bakery section (apparently is used in some recipes...) also in the sports part of normal supermarkets... I get mine in Wall-Mart... (yup, we got those here). If it helps anybody who happens to be around here, it is called Traubenzucker (grapes sugar)

3 regular (20 CC) scoops of dextrose equal 1 C, which is 100 g of dextrose. Approximately 33 g per scoop.
ok..getting back to tablespoons and teaspoons.........yesterday I used 4 tablespoons..........that pretty close?

I don't use tablespoons. It's easier to just use a protein scoop.

Dude just get a scale and measure it in grams, you should have a scale anyway, you being a diet guru and all :)

Someone on the board measured it a while back using a digital scale. He came up with this and it's pretty accurate (+/-5).

1/4 cup= 35 grams of Carbs
1/3 cup= 47 grams of Carbs
1/2 cup= 70 grams of Carbs

Go to Walmart and get some measuring cups. Easy as pie... :)
