Delayed puberty - Test the answer??

bobby80

New member
19 y/o , 6 foot 2, 190 pounds, working out for 2 years on and off, 14ish% body fat.
I feel like i have delayed puberty due to a lack of facial hair, low sex drive, voice hasnt really 'dropped', dont always wake up with a morning erection and the list goes on. The aftermath of this is that it has made me more depressed and i want change!

went to the doc, got my blood tested out, he said things were 'normal' and dismissed me right away, but i feel like my body may need a boost to help with the onset of the later stages of puberty.

My thinking is that by running a simple test cycle, i should see improvements in my quest for manhood status.

obv i will do all i can to improve my test levels naturally, mainly through diet, but i feel like this won't be enough...that is why i feel like i need to add in a cycle to get the ball rolling.

hmmm, maybe i should book an appointment with an endo, but i feel like they will just say what my doctor said and dismiss me becuz im already a big dude....just a 'late bloomer' but i seriously feel that if i dont do something drastic, everything will remain the same and my body wont mature.

what is your thinking about this bros?

I'm no doctor, but not everyone has massive amounts of facial hair, stress and diet can cause low sex drive, not every male has a deep voice, I'm on test and i don't wake up every morning with morning wood.

All the things you describe have different causes, different answers. You might be freaking out for nothing... Then again, your worries may be warranted.

Do you have the bloodwork to post up, so that other members, more educated in that field can offer some advice?

Before someone can make a good suggestion for you, we need all the fine details.

Thx for the helpful response. Will try to find the bloodwork report and post it.

you may or may not have delayed puberty also did you just go to any plain old doctors office and get a blood test done or did you go see a specialist (i.e. pediatrician, physician that sort of thing)?

i have a friend who hasn't come off for almost a year (retarded) and still has no facial hair except for a strip on his chin lmao.

Definitely see a specialist first... either a urologist or an endocrinologist... don't make any guesses...

If you *do* have "delayed puberty", going on a test cycle will only make the problem worse... if not mistaken, HCG is the protocol for that condition... but DON'T try it before you know for sure what the issue is

so youre 6'2" 190 and think puberty hasnt set in yet?
so the doc says bloodwork is ok and you dont buy it?
relax, everything is ok.

Thanks for all the helpful responses everyone.

The last thing I want to do is self medicate...
Will book an appointment with an endo and let them take it from their.

That's what I thought. If you are 6'2" 190 pounds, I doubt you have delayed puberty. I had it. When I was 15 I was the shortest in my class with a baby face, not even one zit. I got a bone age test done, results showed 12.6 years old; so yes, I was delayed.

If you are, let your body alone. DO NOT INTOXICATE YOUR BODY WITH CHEMICALS AND MEDICINES. Doctors are dangerous. I am thankful now that I was delayed, because my body has always looked healthier and in better shape than those who developed fast and now are old and fatty.

Take care of your diet and lifestyle. Answer is mother nature, not medicine. Unless you go to ancient medicine, that's valid too.

Great post, just to clarify though, its the much later stages of puberty (deeper voice, balls hanging low, facial hair) that i don't seem to be developing.

Patience is key. Going to go live in the squat rack. Maybe read up on some ancient medicine.

On a side note, doctors are dangerous, funny stuff bro.

Bloodwork came in, everything is normal.

ALT was above range and HDL cholesterol was a tad below range.
Testosterone came in at 21 with the ref range for an adult being 6-30.

Talked to a doctor about HCG but he told me it wouldn't help, he also mentioned clomid but left it at that....at the end of it all he told me to just be patient.

Your testosterone level came back as 21 nmol/L
which is 600ng/dL. This level is perfectly normal...
i would even say really close if not optimal.

mine came back 520 ng/dL when i was 20 and
590 ng/dL when i was 22 (23 now). i was shortest in
my class ;), but grew up to 178cm (about 5'10" or 5'11")
which is normal height. was also lacking in weight development
in class but later in 18,19,20is everything turned out fine..

your test level is fine, you just need to let the testosterone do its job, which means a little more time.
