I went to pick Dev up from daycare yesterday, and he had a knot on his head. They said he fell over and hit his head on the table leg while he was sitting up. I wasn't exactly mad but wasn't exactly please because he just learned to sit on his own, and they could have had him sit on the big padded play mat instead of the hardwood floor by a table leg. Alas, though, I let it go. I also think they should have called me when it happened.

Then, there is the weird thing that he was not in the clothes that I sent him in. He was in girl's clothing with hearts and kittens and stuff. I asked, "what happened here?" They said, "he pooped all over the outfit you sent him in." I say, "okay, why didn't you send you just put on the spare outfit I sent for him." They said there wasn't one in the bag. I looked in the bag and his spare outfit is missing.

This is where it gets weirder. I get home and grab the outfit that he was supposed to have pooped all over to treat the stains and to wash it. I pull it out of the bag and it is as clean as a whistle! No poop anywhere! What the heck????? They didn't wash it. I sniffed it. It smelled like my baby, not like it had been laundered.

Then, this morning I heard a lady say, "I hate to be the one to tell her" as I was leaving. I called the daycare this morning and asked, "how is Devin doing? Anything I should know about?" They seemed perplexed why I was calling, and said "everything is fine. He's doing great."

Hmmmm...am I paranoid?

another kid must have pooped and didnt have a spare outfit, but why a girl outfit and change your kid? i assume they are a reputable outift

id imagine that looking after 20+ very young children with 3-4 adults running around trying to coordinate the whole thing is going to result in a lot of innocent weirdness. keep a sharp eye out, enquire so as to demonstrate that yorue switched on, but overall, dont lose sleep over it imo

omg... cross dressing kiddies

I beat the bump on his forehead is where they smacked him after he pitched a fit about being dressed in girly girly clothes.

Or maybe... he took his clothes off and ran over and pooped on some girl. And as punishment they made him wear her second outfit. While she wore the poopy one because they don't like her anyway.

Or I just don't know.

No you're not. I would freak out and be paranoid also. My advice if go up to the daycare and give it to them straight. Ask them: hey, wats goin on? Is there smthg I should know about?

okay don't take this the wrong way....this is why I refused day care for my girls...something is wrong. You need to ask the person in charge for all the details....

that is kinda weird...why do you think delvin ended up in female clothing?

Maybe he was A-stylin and A-profilin.

He was showing the other kids that he could dress in sissy clothes and still be the greatest 10lbs of sexy in that room that they would ever see.

me thinks young daquan got injured some how and to cover up the blood they put him in chic clothes

Yeah, I have no idea. The outfit that they found for him to wear was some stained, ugly aqua blue thing with kitties and mice and hearts all over it. He looked like a little girl. I'm going to talk to the owner about it and the accident today. They are supposed to fill out an accident report when something happens. No accident report was filled out.

Another weird thing recently was that they called me at work and said, "Heather, is this breast milk in his bottles?" I told them that he gets formula at daycare and breastmilk at home. Apparently, they had accidentally fed one of his bottles to another little girl and were freaking out thinking they had fed her my breastmilk.

I'm in a town I never lived in before December. I don't know many people here yet.

Honesty in a care provider is important......make them tell you the truth and
then change providers. Obviously something happened and they feel it is important enough to lie about.....why put Devin at risk?(they should have called you when he bumped his head hard enough to leave a knot)

Yeah, I'm looking for a new place. It stinks because Devin has bonded with one of the care providers. She is really good, but I think some of the others secretly resent the babies. She wasn't there when this all went down.

not good enough... demand answers, pursue it

You know the odd thing is that I can normally put two and two together based upon the evidence, but I just can't piece this one together. Knot on head+ dressed in spare clothing they had lying around + his clothing being clean = ???? I can't put my finger on it.

If your gut is telling you something is wrong, SOMETHING is wrong! It could be a silly mistake made on their part; or something else. Either way, I'd want answers!

Sorry, any head injury should have been noted IN the log. I do not care if it was a lil bump or not! Who there decided that his lil bump was NOT serious enough to make the log? Are they doctors?! However, the log and records are there FOR health and legal reasons- YOU know this!!

I'd be over there on my lunch break demanding serious answers to my questions. Is that possible for you to do during lunch?

yeah, I'm going over at 1:00. We'll see what they say.

I think the knot on his head was just an accident. If I had a penny for everytime one of my children or my sister's children "got into something" while we were BOTH RIGHT THERE (we both stayed home with our children - no daycare/not even preschool) and it still happened I would have never been broke LOL.

But the clothing thing... that is plain old dumbass lie to coverup stoopid shit. <---- THAT is what should concern you. If they will do something so braindead to coverup a silly truth (prolly something along the line of some one else's parent forgot to put a clean outfit in that kid's bag and your son was the only baby that was really that size so they switched the clothing because they didn't think to look in YOUR son's bag - duh - and made up the only cockandbull story that their feeble minds could muster)....

THAT would concern me. That they were dishonest about something so silly. What would they do if there was a serious problem?

Don't flip because it won't do a damned bit of good regardless. Just find another daycare or daycare in someone's home.

LOL@AAP's posts.

Seriously though, it would be hard for me not to go in there and start kickin those bitches around until they told me the truth about everything. There are more and more daycare places putting in webcams so you can check in on your kids from work ya know. I'd yank him out of there. Fuck that. They're lying to you. Use your "attorney powers" and scare the shit out of them with lawsuit talk. Tell them you are looking into this and you'll be talking to the (whatever dept. licenses them) about no accident report being filed and you'll see if they've had any other complaints...blah blah.

You know what to do. Play hardball with these bitches and show them they'd better shape the fuck up or they won't be in business anymore.

Get poor little Dashawn out of there!

I think that may be overdoing it a bit. These ladies are pretty nice for the most part. I feel like they are just not telling the full truth about what happened yesterday.

they probably washed the outfit he pooped in, and it smelled like derek because they put it back in his bag (which probably reeks of young dorian)

I would see if you could get a spy cam in the place and see what is up. I would keep a log / journal of all the event too. If I remember correctly, you had a post earlier about them using your sons diapers and stuff for other children.

If nothing is up, then why are they lying?

Is there no other daycare you can take him to? I would be royally pissed about this and I would NOT let it slide. It seems like they are using everything you give them for your baby as community property, which is utterly ridiculous.

Funny you say that. Yesterday they also sent home a note that he was out of wipes and diapers. I just gave them a ton a few days ago. I also noticed that evidently some moms didn't bring wipes for several days, because they actually posted a note on the front door listing almost every mom who has a baby in the under 1 year old room telling them to bring wipes. I think they used my wipes & diapers on like 5 or 6 of the kids. Baby food seems to go very fast, too.

Well you posted something a while back about walking in on them using your diapers and whipes on another kid, so it seems like this is an ongoing trend. You absolutely need to say something to someone, or move devin to another daycare, or both. They need to either require - not ask, REQUIRE - moms bring their own supplies or be taking care of those supplies on their own out of what they charge for care.

You could stamp "PROPERTY OF DEVIN" on everything you leave with them when you drop Devin off.

In big black letters so it can't be missed, perhaps they will get the hint.

Like the hospitals started to do when it was fashionable to wear scrubs in the 80's and people started to steal them.

I believe they sell stamp kits for this exact purpose in those fancy shmancy yuppie kiddie catalogs. I do believe that if you are a working parent and your child will spend any amount of time away from home this is a good idea.

Well, here is the thing, I KNOW that they use other kids' stuff when those kids run out. How do I know this? a. I caught them red handed once using my wipes on another kid's bottom. b. when they sent home a note that he was out of diapers, he came home with a diaper stamped "Rylee." LOL.

We do stamp most all of our stuff, already, but it seems that they don't have any spares.

Okay, I returned from there and got the skinny on what happened yesterday. The girl who was watching him when he fell was there. She is one of the ones I consider a good one. I've dropped in on her OFTEN and she is always being very good with the kids. She explained where he was when he fell and how he fell, etc. I asked that she always fill out an accident report if he gets hurt and that she ALWAYS call me, because I'm only a block away.

On the weird outfit thing, they said that they could not find my spare outfit that I always pack. I looked in all the kids' baskets and it somehow had gotten misplaced in another basket. That outfit is tagless, so I had not put his name in it. They said that they changed his outfit into the only thing that they had on hand and washed the other one. They explained that it was the fragrance free laundry detergent which is why it didn't smell like laundry. They said they didn't want to put it in the bag being that dirty.

I'm not so terribly upset about them "borrowing" Devin's wipes b/c they are only $2 a box, anyway.

I'm still looking at another daycare and have been put on their waiting list for the <1 year old program. It's more expensive, but they do more activities with the kids.

They lied to you and no you're not paranoid.

Yup, not only that but more than one thing was off the beat and path and did not line up with what really transpired, if i were you I`d be bringing those wierd points up and checkin things out in depth......just my 2 cents.

Best of luck, hope the little guys ok!

As long as you feel better, that IS all that matter's! I do not envy you mom's who have to battle all these child care issues. I'm so damn blessed.

Why should you be making another parent's life easy by supplying all the wipes? I could care less if they were only 50 cents a box. You are single, most of them prolly have a double income! I'd be more apt to be the one giving YOU supplies if we knew one another!

The wipes thing IS annoying. Dont get me wrong. More than the expense, the annoyance lies in the fact that I have to keep going to the store to stock up. I buy the huge multi-refill box now. Literally, I buy like $25 worth of wipes at a time...lol.

I have one of a mom using her vibrator on a web cam and her kid runs into the room. She tells him to go back downstares. The kid asks what she is doing, and mom says I will show you later. Then, the mom starts yelling. (she never stops with the vibrator)lolklkllo

Yeah, I'm looking for a new place. It stinks because Devin has bonded with one of the care providers. She is really good, but I think some of the others secretly resent the babies. She wasn't there when this all went down.
If you do want to keep him there, make extra special friends with this care provider. Find out what she likes and cater to that. Is sounds manipulative and IS but if you are friends with her she will look out for your little guy and give you the scoop if something is not right.

Crap gets crazy and could look "bad" at my house and I only have my own two kids here. Wierd crap happens when a bunch of little kids are around. But still!

If I were heather, I wouldn't keep little Duante there.
Yeah, shoot, just get a mom like me who loves babies and wants to be a hero to watch the little dude.

If I lived by you and you didn't mind me taking him to the gym everyday I would watch him. I  babies. Of course, that would cut into my internet time though.

For real, you might look into a nanny. It's a great option for a lot of people.

<<< holding all jokes about the clothes

I'm not going to read all umpteen pages HR, you go back there in person, and ask the owner WTF is going on. If they cannot explain to your satisfaction, don't go back, period. end of story.

They should have called you about the bump if it was raised at all, reddish mark.... maybe not, but after all the other shit that you described, all in one day. somebody's lieing....

good luck to you, I hope all is well in reality. If you can get the lady who Lefty likes to give you her home phone #, she may tell you more about what is going on. She won't want to get fired so what she can tell you there will be minimized and glossed over....
