DC Training...1 or 3 sets?

Okay, I know DC has you doing one set, then 2 little "RP" sets, after 15 deep breaths. The thing is, deep breaths range from 2-4 seconds (2 minimum, unless you're panting) in which case, your time in-between RP sets ends up being 30-60 seconds long. Wouldn't that mean, then, that you really end up doing 3 sets?

no, because you are going to complete and utter failure with the same weight, its not like doing a 5x5 where you really arent going to failure on all sets.

That doesn't mean it isn't three sets...

People can train to failure multiple times with the same weight, dividing it up into sets.

if you were going to COMPLETE failure with the same weight for 3 sets, you would nee much more rest than 30-60 seconds to get the same amount of reps and weight

True. I'm just skeptical now. I'm hoping it pays off. I've been following the diet almost every day. I'm still due for a bunch of gains (not close to my genetic potential), I sleep 9+ hours almost every night, and I put in 110% intensity in the gym. I'm just paranoid I'll go through it all excited, and by the time 8 weeks it up, be disappointed.

umm no. we all know you hate DC training, so dont post unless its productive, and get your fucking keyboard fixed. if you have ever TRIED DC training, which i have (and stopped because of headaches and shit) the intensity level is extremely high, i used to get headaches and be shaking after every set, thats complete failure. its also taking a weight you normall get 8 reps with, racking it, then taking a few deep breaths and doing it again, then racking it, and trying to squeeze out more.

I dont do this kind of training anymore, but it did work for a while.

ive tried DC for a month, and i know what ur talkin about. i know all about the forced reps, RESt pauSE, AND NEGATIVEs. i did hate it until i tried it. i dont like it THAT much, but its ok.

How come you don't do it anymore? What kind of gains did you make?
made great gains, about 15lbs with very little bodyfat, but that much intensity took its toll on me, maybe i just cant handle it, still follow a slightly modified plan though, almost a cross between dc/hst, low volume, pretty high intensity and high frequency.
