Customs Questions Help Please

My pack has been sitting in customs JFK since last sat well last night at 6pm it finally cleared. Its growth from china why in the hell did it take so long to clear. Now im kinda leary on accepting it since i do have to sign for it since its usps express. My question is is this a common expereince for it to be in customs for a week?

Why not just sign a messy fake signature? None of the guys every check the signature when you sign it...

I just had an int'l order that didn't clear customs & was seized. I got a letter a couple of weeks later. Previously, I had orders that cleared in 2-3 days. A week seems kinda long but IMO if they were gonna do something, they would have just seized it.

Yes, but that's just based on my limited experience with customs. Like I said, in my experience, I would have thought, as long as it was a relatively small order (i.e., single-use), if they would have determined that it was contraband they just would have seized it.

It's fine. Stop being so parnoid. If they cleared it you have nothing to worry about. How much stuff did you order? It can set it customs for up to a month before they clear it. Man those people work at there own pace, that's the whole reason international packages are never guranteed to be at a certain place on a certain day. There is just never any way of knowing how long it will be in customs.

If you are worried, and there is no sig required (there shouldn't be unless the shipper is an idiot), then leave the package unopened, and write "retrn to sender" on it...and leave it for a week or two. If there is no contact from the federales, then you are home free.

I have never tried this, but have seen the advice on another site.

You are likely 99.9% good to go, but if you are the worrying type, try the above.

You will have to use your best judgment call on this one...

I dont order int'l usually as the customs stuff worrries me too much (as you can now see why )

If anything seems fishy and out of the ordinary remember that most often search warrants ARE conditional
(meaning you usually have to take the pack into your possession before they can be executed...And A SIGNATURE would constitute possession)

anyhow, they opened the pack and STILL sent him the gear.

i believe he mentioned that the package had a sticker on it saying some'n like "opened by u.s customs".

My package has been sitting in SMF for 2 days. Never had a problem getting it in the past. But the China company rep said they were experiencing a lot of delays on the west coast and even asked me if I could have the package delivered on the east coast instead.
