Cuff surgery

WarriorPL

High End Bro

I'm really thinking about rotator cuff surgery because i get more depressed each time i have to go to the gym and do chest.. and then i realize i can't do it without pain.

How long should i expect to be out of the gym for?

have u tried physical therapy? or even been diagnosed by a doctor? i was told I had a rot cuff strain in may. went to physicaltherapy, stayed out of the gym for about 2 1/2 months. im just now getting back and it is a little slow. I'm operating at about 80% right now (as far as wieght I use and number of sets/reps). talk to a doc, go to physical therapy, take you time and work hard at rehab. surgery shiuld be a last resort.

good luck

GO FIND A DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE THERAPIST NOW!

PM me... if you want to talk about it.. I couldn't lift for 2 years and over 7 doctors told me my rotator cuffs were done... and I'd have to live with it...
After I found my deep tissue massage therapist, i was benching pain free within 4 weeks...

PM me bro..

:(

I tried to tell ya Wizkid (if you can remember, I was the one righting paragraphs telling you to back off ;) )

Your recovery time will TOTALLY depend on the extent of your injury. It will also have something to do with how good the surgeon is, if you do in fact need surgery. I would first go to a well known orthopedic and get his advice. Then, possibly trying the deep message stuff to see how it feels. But, if your cuff is injured bad enough, all the messaging in the world isn't going to fix it. IMO, a cuff injury is the kind of upper body injuries because it's impossible to work around and hard to deal with.

Good luck bro, and do the right thing. Talk to someone and see how bad it is. I'd hate to hear about you putting yourself out of the gym for good like I almost did.

Killah - What did they make you do in physical therapy

Bones - i give myself real hard massages in the area and it helps alot... but it just comes back the next time i lift.

they made me do a lot of exercises with those resistance elastic bands, some front raises and other strengthening exercise with 3, 5, and 8 pound dumbells. it wasn't that bad. I told myself that I am in this for the long run. and I know that 2 months of physical therapy would be worth it.

GO SEE AN ACTIVE RELEASE THERAPIST NOW.

I had the same problem as you, fixed in three 5-minute sessions.

Read THIS if you need more info.

its doesnt compair to the real thing.

dont jump the gun. you are wasting your money and creating more possible problems.

go through therapy, massage and a few other things before going under the knife.
