covert gay men

p0ink

New member
are any of you gay guys here 'covert'. like, would the average person you talk to have no idea you're gay if you didnt tell them? or would they know right away? it seems that the majority of gay people on campus are one of the two extremes. either they keep a low profile, or they are semi-militant.

there is a guy in a few of my classes who i talk to on a regular basis and will ask for help if i dont get something. anyhow, i asked him why he didnt stay in the military (he was in some branch for a few years), and he starts saying how he didnt want to live his life as a lie, and i was like, 'huh?' and then he told me he was gay, like he was shocked i didn't know. i had absolutely no idea whatsoever. the guy *always* has chicks around him and doesnt fit the 'stereotype' at all.

on the other hand, i notice there is a completely different group. my freshmen year in college, one of the guys in my hallway was gay, but was one of those militant, in your face, banner-waving types. he would wear spiderman costumes and the ballerina to-to thing to class, or shirts that say 'femme' or 'queer' on it.

i'm just asking here, so no one start getting pissed and start hating on poink.

my brothers best friend isgay (i've known him about 15 years), no one knew until a few years ago.

everyone thinks im gay because i'm not interested in women.

Nobody knows I am gay until I tell them. I have many females hound on me and never suspect anything and I am always very nice but stay away. The other kind as you speak are the ones I don't want to represent me but those are the ones the media portrays. Why show a gay man who is more masculine than a straight man when you can show a man that acts like a girl? How else would everyone assume that every gay man hops and skips.

That's an interesting point. All the gay dudes I know are pretty masculine guys. In fact I've only met one gay man who's fit the typical media stereotype, and most other gay people think he's a tool.

flexed, your a fudgepacker too? damn, I had no idea that I would run into (not literally) so many gays on this board..........no offense, just strange.

Yeah, something is strange all right, but it's got nothing to do with the homosexuals on this board.

Yeah.. it looks like there are 2 main types of gay men.. some are just like p0ink said, semi-militant, while others i would never think they were gay.

A friend of mine for several years told me he was gay a few years back. I would never thought it.. but hey it doesnt bother me. We are still as good friends as we were before i knew this..

The semi-militant, femi-ballerina gays just gross me out.. :-)

Hey, you're from Norway. There's two guys downstairs who are from Norway... Tell me, what does this translate to:

Fitte

Thanks.

Hey bro :-)

The word "fitte" can be directly translated to: "pussy" :-)

hahahhaahhahhaaa.

"covert"

none of my friends knew before i told them. (though i'm sure some had their suspicions as i didn't "fake it" by dating women, etc.)

My life and my friends do NOT look like the "Will and Grace" show.
This weekend I'm pouring concrete. 'Nuff said ?

You wouldn't believe the women I have to beat off. When I was in the HR Dept of Motorola, you should have seen the length they would go to trying to catch my attention.

When straight girls come to my pool parties and start getting worked up over me, the single straight guys there will soon say.."Hey Anal, what's your boyfriend up to today?"

It is a combination of the clothes, the muscles, the wit, the confidence, and mostly the disinterest. If straight men (in shape) learned how to dress, became intellectually interesting, and stopped TRYING SO HARD when it comes to women and just ignore them all together, they would find themselves with more pussy selections than they know what to do with.

agreed...i give off that asshole attitude like i don't give a shit about anything...which in turn has women wondering why is this guy not staring or is not interested. I am not gay yet i hate giving goodlooking women attention. I'd rather get them down off their horse and let them approach me. Most women that i have dated have approached me. Guys who strive for that one "pickup line" or beg for a date are truly pathetic and make me laugh.

Treat them like your sister. Listen to them, laugh with them, ask them about their other single girlfriends, never think about having sex with them. It drives them crazy.

agreed. i get more play than all of my friends (they're all straight). it's hilarious to have girls coming onto me when they would just die to get in their pants. there's a lot of truth in the "playing hard to get" theory, methinks.

Sometimes I go to straight bars just to scam Cosmos off clueless bitches.

You get women to buy you drinks? This subverts the transactional dynamic of heterosexual relationships! You are supposed to buy her drinks as an indication of your status as a provider and your likelihood of providing for her and her brood!

Some gay guy can get women to buy him drinks? It's not fair.

A peter pumper giving advice about straight dating....

What's next, a lesson on how to fix my plumbing?

Since you have never had a date in your life, maybe you should pay attention.

The only thing I see lame is your dating life.

Anal Assplorer is a faggot. No wonder he talks so much shit on the internet, he can get away with it, in real life they'd tie him to the back of their pickups and drag his gay ass to his death. Thats what all faggots deserve.

Well, I am one of those “covert” gay guys. I have been gay my entire life but I tried to repress those desires and I did the “straight” thing for the first 30 years of my life. I finally decided that I was not going to live a lie anymore but there was no way in the world I would live as a gay guy, I was just going to be celebate, because I did not want to be gay but I just could not fake liking girls anymore, it is a lot of work. That lasted a few years, I was in serious denial, but then I started checking things out on the internet and meeting people who were just like me. I was surprised that there were other guys out there who play sports and liked watching football and hockey and who are for a lack of a better word “straight acting”. I thought all gay guys were like Just Jack from Will and Grace or like Richard Simons, I did not know there were others like me who were just regular normal guys. It took me a good year to come out to all the people that mattered like my family and friends, I still keep it very low profile at work because I am trying to become a firefighter and I do not want my sexual proclivity to effect my job. I know some of the flag waivers are going to say I am doing a disservice to the rest of the gay community, but not all gay people have to be activists and flag waivers. I like being normal and having chicks hit on me, they hit on me more now than when I was trying to be straight, my straight friends all get pissed because I get more girls numbers than they do. The bad part about being a gay guy that hangs with all straight people is I have to be the guy who takes one for the team, if there is a fat girl in a group of girls my buddies want to talk to, I am the one who has to talk to the fat girl and of course she thinks I am cute and wants to date me, but then I inform her that I probably would rather date her buff brother.

That's actually a pretty good one.

But, you won't be picking me up on gaydar or otherwise, Mr. Pole smoker.

I was only celibate for a couple years, I slept with girls before I did the celibate thing. One summer I was even voted the MVP of all my friends for banging the most chicks in one summer......kind of sad for my straight friends, but that was the summer I was going to turn my self straight, didn't work.

No I was not aware of that website. I will have to check it out. Thanks man for all the info.

In L.A. you should have a ton of gay team sports.. Here we have gay softball, playing in the World Series each year from around the country. They host the biggest softball tournament the weekend of Thanksgiving.

Gay volleyball. Gay football. Track/field, etc..

i play in gay tennis tournaments and gay basketball tournaments, though lately i've been doing less gay stuff and more straight stuff.

if you're a volleyball player then you must know about NAGVA...

No I do not know about most gay things, I started coming out a year ago and it is slow process. I do CVBA tournements and things like that. I have never played in any gay events only with the straights. I will check it out now. Thanks!!!
