Couple random plastic surgery questions.

I just got a couple questions that should be fairly simple I would think. Is there a surgery for eyes to somewhat change the look of the eye? I have seen all the brow lifts and surgerys to correct droopy eyelids but never a surgery to change eyes that may not have a "problem" but just want to be change.

I have seen that it is possible to augment the jaw laterally but is it also possible lower the jaw line to get a more squared off look? I already have a very well defined jaw I'd just like to maybe get it to look more Brad Pittish.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You can do just about anything to your face or body that you want with plastic surgery. Your eyes can be changed to the point that you will no longer be recognised by friends and family. These two links will show you that.

I think you may be referring to a chin implant/augmentation to give you a more pronounced jaw line.

Is there a reason why you feel you may need plastic surgery to feel better about yourself ?

I just don't like my eyes... at all. I guess I am sucked into what society thinks I should look like. Plastic surgery is going to be a last resort as I will try a few things before I go to surgery.

I am not talking about chin augmentation, I mean jaw augmentation. At the back of the mandible where the masitor (sp?) connects. Some people have a very weak jaw line while some people have a very defined jaw. I have to go to court for a speeding ticket or I would post some examples.

Thanks for the reply!

Jaw augmentation is similar to chin implants (augmentation) in that synthetics are inserted to make the mandible more prominent and is usually performed at the same time to produce a balanced appearance.

If you are talking about jaw distraction ... the jaw bone is severed and repositioned with a titanium plate. The plate has a screw which is turned to increase the spacing between the jaw bone over a period of time. This type of procedure is usually used to correct conditions associated with the mouth (ie: overbite, underbite, cleft lip or palate).

On a personal note, I have the utmost respect for anyone involved with reconstructive surgery but consider 'plastic', cosmetic surgery very vain and shallow. For the vast majority of people who undergo some type of cosmetic procedure, the result never corrects the original underlying problem (psychological) and sometimes only leads to further surgeries. I consider myself just an average looking guy but when I look in the mirror I can see my mum's eyes and my dad's chin. I lost my family when I was younger so seeing this is important to me and it is something I would never change. Again this is just a personal note as I am note trying to talk you out of anything. Maybe just have another look at yourself and the people around you who have a genuine interest in your well-being and then decide if this is something you want to persue.

I'm ALONG way from acctually doing plastic surgery. My eyes just always look like I am tired. It's more than just the eyelid sagging, the whole structure of the tissue around my eye is a little off. My eyebrow seems to high up and my eyes too wide open.

Hope that made atleast some sense.

kinda of a creepy thread! what could possibly be so wrong with your eyes that you want to change their shape!?!? are you a guy or a girl?

sounds like you got way too much time on your hands that you are staring at yourself in the mirror obsessing over the shape of your eyes. find something that interests you and you wont be worried about such ridiculous things. jeez.

It's not that big of a deal. Just something that bugs me when I see pictures of myself and stuff. Like I said I'm far from doing plastic surgery, I was more curious than anything. With the money I put in my cars I doubt I'd ever afford it anyway.

you probably look just fine. don't know how old you are but trust me that kind of thing will bother you less as you get older. lots of pretty boys end up being losers.

one of the cool things about being a guy is you don't have to be perfect looking in this world. keep your body in shape, have a good job/career, a little ambition, and people will respect and admire you.

still this is a strange thing for a guy to worry about...gotta ask, are you asian? do asians worry about this kind of thing?

when we look in the mirror we may obsess over a body part, like thinning hair, while other people look at the whole package. bet noone has once looked at you and thought your eyes looked weird and should be surgically changed.

It's like when people see a picture of themselves and their nose is crooked or something. I see a picture of myself and notice my eyes just seem... off. It's not a big deal and deffinatly not anywhere close to a top priority. I'm about to start my first cycle and I'm sure when I'm all big and buff I'll completely forget about my eyes.

Hey bro, I hear ya, I model and I guess I look good but I notice that my right side is less muscularly toned and I can't raide my right eyebrow like my left and it makes my face seem slightly more sagged on the right side. I want to get a small lift of the eyes to even it out a lot and I also have some bags under them almost like lines coming down from the nose to the middle of my cheek that look bad sometimes and I want ot fix it, I dont have the money now but as soon as I am ritch I am doing it. It should be minor surgery and it is a subtle difference that people dont notice as weird plastic surgery, they just think you look more fresh and youthful. I am with ya, Just dont turn into a mike jackson. Small changes are the best. No one can change themselves to be perfect with surgery but you can find somthing you are happy with and you live with it and learn to like it.

I paid for my own nose job in highschool! I made the money and paid for it myself and I couldn't be more happy. IT was slightly too big for my face and everyhitng else on my face looked pretty good so it was ruing the package. I paid, got it, got a smaller follow up surgery and its pretty much done now. VERY HAPPY with results and no one ever thinks I had surgery, it looks like a normal nose and fits me perfectly. God makes little oppsies and its not wrong to fix it to live better, POwer to ya, just be careful Peace :qt:

Ya I could use a nose job. A few months ago this little kid said something like, "Mister your nose goes like this (and he made a movement with his hand like a normal nose) and then it's pointy." It was kinda "cute" I guess but I do have a pointy nose. Maybe I'll just take some scissors to that though :p
