Cost of Illegal Immigrants to Floridians

Bro, the economy has always needed Illegals to provide cheap labor. They work 8-10hrs under the Florida sun for peanuts and pay witholdings they will never get back.

They still buy food, toiletries, luxuries and pay for shelter so they put money into the local economy.

Anybody can flip those reports any way they want to support their agenda. I think all things considered, we need to have SOME illegal aliens around for the reasons I stated above. The fix should come from finding a better way to weed out the bad individuals, like deporting them as soon as they commit a crime and having them serve the time in THEIR country.

blah...florida's citrus industry brings 9 billion to the state's economy annually.

s fl's biggest industry, tourism, has a haitian backbone.

i don't see whites lining up for either of these jobs.

It's not about race. There are LEGAL programs for farm labor.

It's about LAW BREAKERS !!! That's why they're called ILLEGAL ALIENS.

touche, i'll rephrase: i don't see american citizens lining up for these jobs.

I wonder if the worker cost savings that the Florida Orange Juice companies get is equal the 4.3 Billion per year? Probably not. Maybe if you throw in the sugar guys too.

Florida....America's Wang.

This whole thing is a double edged sword. If we boot the immigrants out, American take the jobs. Americans won't work for $7.00 an hour picking oranges or tomatoes. Then, the prices of these products will skyrocket and we'll pay more for such good. At least that money would stay here instead of being sent back to Mexico(or any country for that matter) to support the family they left behind!!! :Chef: :tuc:

There are a lot more issues arond agriculture. Agriculture is so heavily subsidizied and protected. The one thing the liberals get right is how our agriculture policies kill the third world.

In a truly open market, we would buy our oranges from Brazil for much cheaper than FL. Big Citrus is a real lobby down here....that crazy bitch Katherine Harris is from a "citrus family".

I'll be voting for Senator Nelson in that election.

As years go by -- this demographic grows and will grow to monsterous numbers.

A massive voting bloc.

With that said -- expect borders to get looser not tighter. Illegals, and kids of illegals will want their relatives to come here, not be locked out -- and will vote for politicians who help facilitate this.

The division among americans, and increasing lower class, will continue to grow.

Illegal immigrants can't vote.... Are you talking about hispanics in general like the ones born here?
