is beginning to get me depressed. I can only take acetomeniphen, and it does absolutely nothing. I hate to even get out of bed because it just aches all day. I don't know if I can take this until August.

mine is strictly related to being pregnant. I've never had back pain. It isn't like it is really sharp, it is like a dull, generalized pain all day long.
Plus, I just started getting morning sickness. Most girls have it in the first trimester only. I had nothing for the first trimester and most of the second. Now all of a sudden constant nausea.
BLEH.
funny she said that about the pillows b/c I found that to help already.biteme said:Michelle says to lie on your back, prop pillows behind you so that your shoulder blades are elevated and your neck is lifted up. Put 2 pillows under your knees and a heating pad on the lower part of your back. Hot showers on the painful area help as well. She said you can't sit in hot water when you're pregnant though.

a personal masseuse that massaged me whenever I request would be nice too.
you are a good man! It HURTS. lots of little pains but the back pain is the WORST. UGH.dannomight said:I was constantly giving backrubs when my lil guy was in the oven. She also had all day sickness for the first 6 mos.

I had no morning sickness all pregnancy unless I tried to work out. Now, I suddenly have it. Usually, it is a first trimester thing.
i bet you've got some wicked cum gutters now...heatherrae said:I don't even feel good enough for our witty banter.![]()
UGH! Poor girl. It is TERRIBLE. I have this pain on my right side right under my boob. I have no idea what that could be.dannomight said:With her certain smells would trigger vomiting.

I have what? Uh, i don't know. Rub my back or shut up.HumanTarget said:i bet you've got some wicked cum gutters now...

cum gutters = stretch marks. are your feet swollen too? rofl.heatherrae said:I have what? Uh, i don't know. Rub my back or shut up.

I can't stay up anymore though. I gotta go lie down.
I'm ready to be done with the prego thing.

i found out about the pelvic floor much too late...hanselthecaretaker said:I found out from my chiro that my saccrum had diffused (probably congenitally) and formed what appears to be a sixth lumbar vertebrate, with an extra disk too. The disk is thinner than the others, possibly from traumatic jarring that happened when I was younger or some type of degeneration. I have been informed to avoid squats and deadlifts from now on as well. At least now I know.![]()
UGH! I may die before then...lol.Smurfy said:Do chiropractors do Xrays>?
heather, just wait until you're 2 weeks past your due date and the baby has shifted down into place and you can barely walk or get up from a seated position./ it feels like being 120 yrs old and obese all at the same time.
I know sleeping on the floor used to help my dad when he had back pain. I'm sure it doesn't sound like the best and most comfortable place to sleep but the flat surface is probably going to help your back. Can't you do stretches? I know stretching really helps. ESPECIALLY yoga. I'm sure you could do a bunch of poses - not all are really hard (meaning so hard a prego woman couldn't do them).heatherrae said:is beginning to get me depressed. I'm getting two heating pads today and will check into getting a massage. Money is a little tight right now because I'm having to rebuy EVERYTHING, including furniture, bedding, towells, pots and pans...well, everything.Angel said:Sleeping on the left side is the best way to sleep when pregnant.
Try to get a massage. they say it is not only good for back aches, but it some how helps to prepare the body for labor.
Best thing to do is to take hot baths and lay as suggested with pillows

I'm being a whiney butt. I'm not used to having any chronic pains all day long. It is for a good cause though. I just have to keep focusing that it is b/c of making the baby.

Yeah, I will have to look into those. When I picture recliners, I picture the blue tweed things with cup holders. I know you have good taste, though, so I will have to look and see what is new in recliners these days. I also have a fear of children getting stuck in one of them. I have heard those horror stories.stilleto said:here's a suggestion...
since you're buying furniture, consider looking into a reclining chair (they are no longer the ugly things they used to be. I have a reclining leather chair in my living room with nailhead trim that looks great). you'll sleep comfortably on it now, and will come in handy when the only sleep you can get is with the baby lying on top of you.

Yeah, I will look into those. I have camel colored suede looking microfiber stuff, so far. I like it. I'm sure I could get something to match.stilleto said:LOL
i haven't heard of that, but it would be hard to get stuck in mine. i have a fairly formal living room with a high end chocolate brown leather couch, and wouldn't be caught dead owning the blue tweed or worse.. PLAID recliners of yester year.
i'll take a pic of mine when i get my camera from my car. its brown leather and I got it in marshalls for around $400. maybe less? i can't remember.
but i bet if you went to one of those furniture stores like siemens (is that the name of them? those chain type of furniture stores), you could find a nice one and they'd deliver.
you'd be amazed at how much owning a recliner comes in handy when someone is sick or with a bad back, or if you just need to put your (swollen) feet up.

that is pretty. I like the curve of the arms and that it looks like it would fit a little person, like me. Some furniture is made so deep in the seat that my feet don't reach the ground and the arms are useless. That looks nice.stilleto said:IKEA
i know they have, or had, stuff like that because when i was looking for a leather chair i looked there. their furniture is definately nice looking and you can get contemporary or classic, and the price is usually as good as it gets.
this is similar to what i have, except i have the nailhead trim and paid less:

camel is a beautiful color, and you can get almost anything to go with it- browns, navy, burgundy, etc.

I am doing lots of camel and eggplant. For some reason that has been my favorite color since I was a child. I had an antique victorian eggplant colored velvet chair in my room (fussy, huh?) when I was a kid, and I think I just loved that color because I loved the chair.
cool.stilleto said:great combo. Ikea sells area rugs too, so i'm sure you could find one to tie it all in. i finally found a pic of my living room. its actually a vid, and my daughter is in it, so i'm not posting it. i'll pm it to you.
