concerning Mr. X CKD worksheet

I plugged in my weight of 200 and it gave me first day goals of around 80 grams of protein, and 2100 cals. Thats cool, but is 80 grams of protein a max or just a minimum, because it'll be hard keeping protein that low and getting calories with fat and no carbs.

If you run the ckd exactly as it is in his article, then 80g protein is exactly what you should shoot for.

Personally this is the end of the 9th week for my ckd. I started out running the diet almost verbatim to the articles instructions.
After a while I made adjustments and started doing ratios of protein/fat grams around 50/50 or 40/60. For me, it was still pretty easy to get into ketosis by at least Monday night or Tuesday a.m.

Keep reading as many threads on CKD as you can (search)
because that's what makes doing this diet right so easy.......most of the faq's have already been answered.
Good luck on the diet.

Well from all I have read, which is a nice amount, the foods to eat that will yield those calories and fat grams, along with no carbs are going to be meats, eggs, cheese, which will also have a decent amount of protein in them too. above 80 i would think. Im just looking for an example of the first day's meals.

I use to have a hard time getting so many fats and solittle protein on Mondays too. I used to eat a lot of Tuna with 2-3 tlspns of Olive oil and one of Mayo. A can of Tuna has 13g of protein and if you add 2 tblspns of olive oil you have 28g of fat plus the 9 gr of fat for the mayo and you should make it with no problem. Also, I would also eat a lot of Pork skins during that day. Steamed brocolly with a lot of butter.

i dont know about your cans, but my cans of tuna is about 13 g a serving, so about 30-35 a can. eat two of those alone and you are almost at monday's limit.

The ones I ate were tiny :( But the brocolly has no protein ( i think it was like a gram per serving). Also, the pork skins should help yuu reach your target. Plus if anything else fails just eat some tblspoons of flax oil or cooconut oil (I used to do it at the beginning). Also , I just checked the tuna cans and yep they contain 2.5 servings. So I took a little more protein than the recomended. But it still worked for me. I was taking 3 cans of tuna with the olive oil and the mayo and then the other 3 meals were pork skins and the brocolly with butte.

How about heavy cream? Throw some of that into a blender plus a small package of SF jello and you've got a nice little desert there... no protein or carbs... all fat.

Oh yeah!

Forgot about the heavy cream. Put that in your coffee.
3tblspns=150cal & 16g fat.
.....

but the tablespoons of oil are what kick my fat grams over the top.
