Competition #2 For Anyone and Everyone

Alright guys. Its time for the new copetition thread. I will explain it. Same rules as last time.

Simply put a post on here with your basic info. Weight, Height, BF%, Basic Diet, workout routine, gear(if any), and have a picture of yourself in your gallery so that everyone can see where you are starting off at. Then at the end of August 23 we will compare and vote on who had the best results. You will not win anything for this but the progress you made. Male, Female, fat(myself), skinny, I dont care you are more then welcome to join. welcome So now just POST!

Currently bringing in as much good food as I can 6 times a day. With as few cheats as possible. And NO heavy binge drinking...AT ALL. Maybe a few beers on weekend. But no CHEAT DAYS.

Cardio at end of every workout. What exactly? Depends how I feel.

Supplments- Muscle Milk ED / Whey/ Thermorexin ED/ Mult-V and Fish Oil ED. Thats about it.

AS- Test E at 300Mgs Week.

Planned is my trip to Chicago/Detroit on July 12 (2 weeks) for Treilin's and (maybe) Sassy's shows when I also get to meet some other lovely EF members. Can't promise to be clean all trip so that may stall progress a little. However, the rest of the time will be OK.

Looking forward to advice, input and motivation.

I'm taking pics & measurements on Sunday (that's the scheduled day for my log; sorry for being so uptight. lol).

Program:
3 days of lifting (alternate between Workout A & B)
A: Full Squat 3x5; Bench 3x5; Deadlift 1x5; 2x8 of Dips (weighted) & Decline Bench Crunches (weighted)
B: 3x5 BB Hack Squat; BB Rows 3x5; Military Press 3x5; 2x8 of Front & Side Lat Raises
Rest 2 minutes between sets

3 days of Cardio:
5 min warm-up
Day 1 - Cleans; Day 2 - Sprints; Day 3 - Cleans

I plan on being on this program for 6 months. Hence, the numbers (weight amounts) are VERY light right now.

Diet: I increased the calories to x10-12 bodyweight; 3 low carb days (10-15% carbs), 3 mod carb days (20-25%), 1 refeed day (40-50% carbs).

Supps: Whey & Casein PP, Ephedra & caffeine, YES, Cod Liver Oil, Flax Meal, Multi, Vit E, Biotin, Calcuim w/ Vit. D, Vit C, Gingko Biloba, and probiotics.

Goal: 125 & 17% or just leaner than I am now. :)

Goals: Right now im just trying to CUT up my stomach. BUT it isn’t as important as myself gaining strength. If its Abs or strength. Abs is gone =]. I want to be 205 @ or below 10%BF. But this is next winter =]

Another Goal of mine is to Deadlift BIG. I have hit 398x1. I want 420 =]

Another Lift Goal is on my Bench. I want 315 =]

I know those numbers are only possible if I bulk. So that’s why im clean bulking. Hoping that my timed meals will help me grow mass.

Diet Habbits

7 Meals. 1 is a postworkout Shake, So 6 Real Food Meals.
40%Protein/40%Carbs/40%Fats. Around 3300 cals daily.

Training Habbits
Usually 5-6 times a week. Cardio On off Days. I know im close to overtaining, but I say no such thing as over training, only UNDEREATING =]

I Lift like a power lifter. Low Rep Range. 5-7. Rest Time = 3mins- 5mins.

Meal 3: protein (yields 20-30g), carb serving (yield 30g carbs), green veggies ex... 5oz. Chicken breast,1L apple, .5-1c broccoli
Meal 4: 1oz. Almonds, 1 medium apple (fat serving/30-40g carb)
Meal 5: 5-6oz. Fish/ protein source, .5c broccoli (green veggie source), small sweet potato (complex carb source)---post training meal
Meal 6: 1oz. Almonds (fat source...peanuts,NPB,cashews), 1scoop whey (yield 15g Protein-any source)

Example day Totals :

Calories: 1634
Carbohydrate: 181 grams, 586 calories, 40%
Protein: 122 grams, 487 calories, 33%
Fat: 45 grams, 401 calories, 27%

Training:
day one: 45-60 min HIIT cardio (am-empty stomach)
day two: back/bis (high weight/low reps), 20-30 min cardio post workout
day three: same as day one
day four: tris/shoulders(high weight/low reps), 20-30 min cardio
day five: same as day one, three
day six: legs( low weight HIGH reps---lots and lots of WORK), 20-30 min cardio post workout
day seven: rest day and one cheat meal!

**NO supps other than multi vit and calcium 600!!!

MM107. Goals are almost identicle. Although I even care less about seeing abs. I just really hope to lean down maybe 2-3%BF and put on some massive muscle. My bench is so weak but I to hope for 315.... Maybe in like 6 more months with hitting it hard. Ill post pics and demensions tonight.

I'm in! I'm 15 years old..My goals are to get big and strong, so i'll be bulking until i get morbidly fat or until my testosterone pumps down. Doing the Linear starr 5x5 and plan on doing it for a while since it still works so great.

Stats: 6'1 195lbs i have no idea about bf%, i'm thinking around 15%?
Max 5 reps from starr:
squat: 225x5 (wide powerlifter stance, just below parallel)
bench: 170x5
row: 135x5
deadlift: 245x5
military press: 115x5
(i put those to check this back out once it's August 23rd and see how far i've progressed.

Wow. There are a lot of people. oso and young gin be sure to ask me or Sarge for any questions. Both have impressive stats with your age.

Youngin- Bro you got good genitics from what I can see. You just need to add mass and you have plenty of time. Your routine and diet look pretty solid. Just go all out with the weights and do as many power exercises as possible.

i've been dieting hardcore for about 14 weeks...went from roughly 15%bf to 11%bf. i'll post pics of me then and now....my goal is to be btwn 6-7%.

on a side not...watched jay cutlers new video yesterday...he is freaking 3%bf at 268lbs. i'm sorry but that can't be healthy for you...and it wasn't even for a 2 or 3 hour span...he was that bf % for days. anyway guy is a beast
 
Im in. been dieting for 40 days.

HIIT weight training 5 days a week for 60 mins
HIIT cardio training 3-4 days a week for 45 mins

on a CKD at the moment but am thinking of switching to a more conventional diet. but being 280lbs has its disadvantages when it comes to getting all my calories from a lean and clean meal plan.

No matter the diet:

Calories In < Calories Out = Weight loss

Eating often and quality whole foods burns calories too, bumps metabolism up... so if u like "Rules" stick to a "diet" ... otherwise, try a conventional lower cal diet like u said... whatever fits the schedule and personality... it's up to you :)
 
This compitition is fuckin huge. Going to be hard to keep track. We need some pics guys. And Yes I will have mine ASAP. With mesurments and Max lifts.
 
I'm posting my pics & measurements on Sunday. Its the morning of my refeed. Its been a year since my max lifts; it isn't worth mentioning them.
 
Good luck to everyone involved so far. I'm out for this one. Single, leave work at midnight and head straight to the gym, no vacation plans for the summer. :rolleyes: Just maintaining the bodyfat and trying to increase weights every few workouts. I'll probably post some more pics in my gallery soon. Props to Cityhick for starting this thing. Good motivational tool for everyone.
 
Couldnt get to the gym tonight. Was going to after my nap but then slept an extra hour. Woke up in the middle of the pistons game and couldnt leave it. Just means now that I will have to lift Saturday and sunday... Not a big eal because I am not drinking heavy anymore. Will be nice to not be hung over.

haha Well to make sure I am getting my water in I bought a gallon jug with a big handle on it. Need to make sure i get one of those a day in at work and one at night. 2 Gallons is a lot of water. My ass is just starting to feel better from my first shot.. :)

Good to hear about the water! I am trying to do the same I carry a water bottle around where ever I go, and then I go in a store, and at home, and at gas stations, at the grocery store, arrrr LOL
 
Yea people think its kinda wierd that I have a water bottle in my back pocket 99% of the time. People at work cant bieleve how much I drink. I think boss is getting psised because I drink about 7 of his bottle waters in about 10 hours... withc is still not enough

LOL. I hve 2 1.5 Liter bottles on my desk. I always get funny looks when I fill them up at the water cooler.

Today was good until I got home. TON of bullshit. Court people are assholes and now all weekend I gotta do community service instead of enjoying my time off my 60+ hours a week. Not only that but the hours I did work last week (65) My boss cut me a check for like 3/4..... WTF! Im so fuckin pissed right now I am going to destroy it at the gym...

I've got 3 weddings to go to this summer. Went to get a new suit & for the first time ever, the pants didn't fit me. To get a suit that fits my shoulders, the waist of the suit has to be taken in, but the pants that come with that size jacket are too large to be able to take in the right amount. The guy told me to stop working out, LOL. It's astounding, really, 'cause I think I'm still a pig, but apparently I'm a well built pig.

William, good job man. Try running first thing in the morning on an empty stomachfor 30 minutes 4 times a week without even brushing your teeth since the toothpaste has potential carbs. You want you body to resort to using your bodyfat for energy instead of what you put in it. If you are doing your cardio in the daytime thats probably why its harder to take the weight off because you burn off what you just ate not whats stored within your body as fat.

thanks man, I actually do my cardio first thing in the morning (I brush my teeth though). I normally have a cup of coffee and a banana, if not i wont have energy, but I'll try to skip the banana and see what happens...thanks
 
Just got back from a 19 km bike ride. Nice ladies down at the uvinersity. :p
Now I'm fricken hypo glycemic, so I gotta have some carbs. :rolleyes:

I just went grocery shopping with 4 kids and a husband in superstore. Iam hypo glycemic and need some carbs LOL! :)

Had a good week, I guess. Worked out my arms properly for once and am now suffering big time from DOMS. My wrists and grip are buggered which will make it hard for chest day today. I don't wear gloves - will that help?

Turned down a vodka last night and it was hard to do that.

Hey Rand. Early morning cardio is good. Do you do circit training for endurance with the Martial arts? If not maybe start a new routine circuit doesnt do anything for me..

I have been using wrist supports and these things that hook onto my weights during step ups and lunges to support more of the weight than my wrists. The supports help some, other times they make things worse. The things that hook are awesome. As far as gloves, I am going to try some too, I have callouses that are so big and ugly, but I don't know if the gloves will help those.
 
ck2006, try shaving the callouses down with pumice or something like that type of texture. Gloves do really help with keeping your hands callous free. (my g/f hates the rough scratchy feel :( )

Btw, with running on an empty stomach, since you sleep for 7-9 hours (should at least get that many), that's quite a long time for your body to go without food. I don't know for sure (I don't do cardio) but some of the forums I go to don't recommend running before getting something to eat due to the burning of muscle. Though, I'm really not too sure, but you may want to look into it.

anyway................I'm really hoping to get pics in sometime soon, my camera card died, so I have to use my friend's or buy another chip. I'll try to get them in asap

I thought I took enough carbs to see me through the ride, but the wind was stronger than I thought, I rode a little harder, & I went a little longer=carb deficiency.

That still rocks, I plan on taking the boys for a long bike through the trails when it stops fu*(^% raining here. though I suppose I could take them through the mud, they would enjoy it :)

well this is what I am going to try in the following order:

1) increase my cardio frequency by 1 or 2 more sessions/weekly
2) also I have been eating dried fruits(figs), I might cut down on them just a little to see what happens. I have been doing this all along though, nothing new here.

Note: I think the body just makes it harder to lose fat when you get to a certain level.

I know what you mean, been practically the same weight since January! You can do it!
 
We have a big enough lawn that it qualifies as a cardio workout whenever I mow it. Takes about 40 min & I'm drenched by the time I'm done.
 
Bought some muslce milk today... yummmm. Missed it. Time to start EATING. Feel bad for you guys that have to eat clean 100% of the time. By no means am I lean... but if I eat good 75% of the time with good cardio and lifting HEAVY and hard I will loose fat. With the "suppelments" I am taking I dont need to be to picky. Thank god. Everyone still in the compitition. Usally a lot of people join and only a few stay. Still have 3 times as many as the last one.

By no means am I lean... but if I eat good 75% of the time with good cardio and lifting HEAVY and hard I will loose fat. With the "suppelments" I am taking I dont need to be to picky. Thank god. Everyone still in the compitition. Usally a lot of people join and only a few stay. Still have 3 times as many as the last one.

Haha My supplements are Test E, Muslce Milk and whey. Thermorexin(sometimes) :chomp: ;)
My goal is to be VERY strong with big mass and about 12-14% BF.
 
JMT!? Wher the hell have you been bro!? Just started mine last monday. Hopfully I will be at 220 at about 16% when Im done.....for some rason I dropped down to 194 eating like crazy.
 
i was getting a little too focused on gear and working out and my work was suffering. i needed to get back into work and now have found a happy median. i tend to focus on one thing sometimes too much and let all other things go. its good to be back. if you do nothing but gain muscle and not much fat during the cycle, your bf will def drop, prob below 16%, esp if you eat clean and do some mild cardio.
 
I plan on doing some intense cardio and eating pretty clean. Cant wait. I understand about work. and right now work is takin to much outta my workouts.... so i think im quitting my job. :)

I am waiting to get my BF% to 10-12% before I start a cycle of andropen 275, Test E 250, deca250, and dbol 30mgs. I should start in about 6 weeks (when does contest 3 start ?????). My diet is down to 2000 cal a day w/ 220+ grams of protien and very little carbs. I am going to start carb cyling (thanks sassy!) tomorrow and am done w/ cheat meals and booze till the contest is over......or at least I'm going to try.All my lifts are done w/ free weight and I train very intensily. I always want to lift more and live for adding plates. I prefer to lift heavy for 5-7 reps. Have to switch it up for the next 30 days to 10-12 reps to give my tendons a small break, then it is off to tear a F'ing hole in Madcows 5x5. :chomp:

My curret split: - prior to finding EF I did a bodypart perday, 5 days on 2 off. I learned the perils of this on EF (thanks to the EF gods) and have had tremendous strength gains - I was never deadlifting, making the progression to the machines, and was getting away from squatting heavy and deep. I found EF and switched to this program 8 weeks ago.

Monday: Legs, Calves, Abs
Squats- Leg Press (ATF) - SLDL - Lying Leg Curls- Standing calf- Seated Calf-Decline Ab's - Swissball Ab

Wednesday: Chest, Shoulders, Triceps
Bench - Incline DB- Dips - Military DB - Lateral Raises - Pushdowns -SkullCrushers

Friday: Back, Traps, Bicep, Forearms
Deadlift -Chins -BB Rows -BB Shrugs -BB Curls -DB curls -Forearm curls

I'm doing cardio on my lifting mornings on an empty stomach - low intensity, typically uphill on the treadmill. Sometimes I even feel like I'm cheating on this as I will go jumprope after 30 mintues of walking boredom. I am doing cardio twice a day on non lifting days - high intensity typically both times. Boxing, track work, etc. I'm in Texas, so track work in the summer can be brutal. Sunday is a rest day unles I miss AM cardio during the week.

Did my first high rep leg, calf, ab workout today: :mix:

It was hard - may drop weight next week. Did my squats w/ 225x12 for 3 sets. Set 1 was x15 and set 2 felt gooooood. Went up to 275 thinking it was gonna be x10 and it was x7. GRRRRRRR. Everything else went pretty much the same - set one I'm thinking the weight is too light, and by set 3 I am dying out before I hit my rep range.

footnote: didn't do calfs or abs - Memorial Day and the wife and kids were waiting to go swimming - I was at the gym for 75min easily - gotta get it down to 60min max and be through it all. No cardio today - :worried: well, I did jumprope for 3 rounds after my leg workout - can't do that after a 5-7 rep range leg day! :p

AWESOME! I ran at 6.0 miles/hr for 1 hour! WE ROCK! started a new supp to day called Ripped by NXcare, from the GNC store. I think it helped me with my workout today! I will let you know how it goes.

I can't run. My knees can't handle it. Jumped off too many tank fenders, years ago.
Bike riding , roller blading & crosstrainers are it for my geriatric kneesies

It doesn't matter whatcha do, as long as it is done. I am training for an 8k in July. I did it 2 years ago and came in dead last, but to my credit my youngest was only 4months old. I am going back this year to see if I can beat my time!

Missed my workout today.... but played a couple hours of B-Ball... talk about cardio. You guys are killing it.

Log update. This was my BDAY weekend, so a lot of Drinking, and not so much training, but hey I HAD A LOT OF FUN! Lol. But training is back!

I had the Deadlift competition on Friday. Amazing.

Got there and REALLY PULLED MY ASS OFF.

Contestants/ Max Lifts / Weight at Lift
Me : 423lbs @ 180lbs
Kevin : 331lbs @ 160
Tom : 485lbs @ 165
Joey : 463lbs @ 170

The gym record is 501 @ 165. We were all having fun in the Deadlift area, when the Gym owner (TEDDY) comes in, and sees the weight loaded on the bar, and sees all of us under 200lbs. And starts asking us training length/weight/etc. When we told him he was stunned that TOM is only 165. and That I only had been training for 3 months. He told us about the competition, coming up and wants us too be in it. He told me some tips, etc. I want to be pulling 500 in couple months =]

Notes: The DIPS were my major killer on Saturday. There was this jerk off trainer there, 3 clients, getting in my way, and even almost had his head knocked off by my boy doing some hang cleans. So he’s in bicep area, SCREAMING, and I don’t mean grunting, I mean SCREAMING! So I can tell people are getting annoyed. So I laughed it off. So then he’s still screaming with his next client, while one of the other clients are near a pushdown machine and i'M DIPPING. So I load 2 up, SCREAM 7 REPS., so then now I have everyone looking at ME, laughing because they know what i’M doing, So then I load up 135lbs and people are like wow he’s going to try it with 3 plates, so I SCREAM OUT 4 REPS the loudest I have ever been. So when i am done, literally almost everyone was giving me the “good job shutting that asshole up” screaming with bicep curls. Oh well, lol

Monday – Beach Day (time to see if all the work paid off)

Went to Rockaway Beach over in Queens. Tons of compliments, TONS, really made me feel good since It was after 3 days of drinking HARDCORE. A lot of “juicehead comments” by the dudes and GOOD complements from the chickas!



Other NOTES:

Birthday was amazing, went to a club, boys bought me a table and a bottle. Drinking till about 3am.

Then I go outside and some asshole is being retarded so me and him start going at it(after he started with me) so then he’s nervous because I literally want to kill him, goes to his car and gets a fuckin bat out. So now it’s Me + Him in the middle of the street, right in front of the club. So I look him in the face and say “whacha going to do with that pussy” and I hocked a loogie in his FACE lol. So then he hit me lol. He hit me in the RIBS, so I looked and laughed, not only am I drunk I really have a rage problem so right now is 0 pain for me lol. He hits me, so I punched him as he tried to swing another time, square in the face. Then, he hits me across the back, im drunk so gotta deal with it lol, I look at him and I laugh again like a pure psycho, now he doesn’t want to keep hitting me because he prob realeased the only way to knock me down would be a face shot and he prob ddnt want to take it there yet, so we fighting, undercover cops pull up, see he has the bat, and took him away and told me to get out of there lmao. LOVE IT. Even tho I got a semi-asskicking, everyone gets one once in a while if your drunk lol

BUT BESIDES THAT, HAD AN AMAZING WEEKEND!

I'm back in the game tomorrow after a little hiatus, with New Motivation and New meaning... see how my injuries hold up in the gym, I'm going to focus on form and try to cut the intensity down about 40% to start... back on cutting diet tomorrow too, pizza tonight to top off the long weekend :)

Feeling: Fat, small, weak, and shitty... cheat weekend/LONG weekend was more than worth every momment of this :coffee:
 
MM107.. I got enough drunkin fighting stories to compete with the Irish. :) Gotta love em. And when I am lifting hard and then drink the Invinsible. Immortal version of me really comes out. Those times are gone for awhile now. Stayed sober all weekend... big deal for me and plan on it for the next 16-20 weeks. A few beers here and there but thats it.

Training wise... I maxed out at bench today and BARELY got up 225. Thats 20lbs in about 2 months. It is weak for a man of my size but Fantastic for me personally. I will be maxing out all week. Pictures will come tonight. Down to 197 too. Hope to get to 220.

Nice job on posting up thumpa! Not sure if judges were ever declared but I'll help out in any way I can, since I cannot really compete.

NO SLEEP FOR YOU! :)

I just finished at the gym, bis and tris, 30 minutes on the eliptical and when my girls go for their nap another round on the treadmill! Then outside, it is too hot to stay in, going to take them for a walk at the trails, yahoo. Sunscreen this time a must, I am still peeling from the last burn :rolleyes:

Now here is a question, my right wrist and forearm are still hurting on my 2nd superset of bis so I have to take the weight down to 10 pounds for the one arm. My other arm use to be sore like that too but the soreness has gone away. Do I keep on plugging through with the right arm, use lower weights, use the same weights? I use my wrist support on the right, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

I was also think of changing the exercise this is what I am doing right now....
any suggestions to change it up??
