Cleans and clean variations. Spinning bar a must?

I've been trying to get the grove on cleans and the many variations lately but can't seem to get them down. I just end up overpowering the weight and I know I have a few problems, one of which is I don't have a bar with any spin. The facility that I train at know has nice ivanko bars with deep churning but virtually zero spin. Between that and my difficulty with acceleration after the knee, and getting my elbows forward... well... its been a tough time!

Advice?

yeah

without a spin it makes it really hard to flip the bar and rack it properly with heavier weights. Your cuffs work overtime

it will f*ck up your shoudlers on snatches too if it doesn't spin real well

try some WD40 :)

I hate posts like the one I'm making. :)

WD40 is a solvent, not a lubricant. It will only temporarily help. Use WD40 to get the surface clean, then use an oil. 3-in-1 or another household oil will do the trick.

Back to lurking. :D
