Cholesterol and being taken off of AS and Test

I got some very bad news about my latest blood test results. This is the letter that went from my doctor that gives me legal scripts for AS and Test to my PCP:

Jennifer,

Thank you for forwarding to me Alan Chiras triglycerides and cholesterol,
which were done in the fasting state.
You obtained values of TRIG 929 and CHOL 545. HDL CHOL was not detectable.
I checked my records. On December 30, 2002, his TRIG were 121, CHOL 148.
(These were not fasting).
I am not sure what caused this sudden change. In any event given that Alan
is on both injectable nandrolone and topical androgel, I recommended to him
that he stop BOTH and that in 3 or 4 weeks, he have them re-measured. He
has agreed to this, though obviously he is not happy with this decision.
He did mention that we should be aware that his psych med changed from
Effexor to Wellbutrin. This could confound the picture. In addition, his
HIV meds have changed (particularly Viread).
so we have a plan of action for now. Let's see what his repeat numbers
show.

Not happy:bawling: I'm bawling my freaking eyes out. Listen, I got my last deca shot today, rubbed the last packets of androgel, and am sucking on the last paper d-bol for a long time. Listen, I'm frightened with either way these tests next month turn out. if they show numbers returning to normal, they are going to blame it on the Deca and Test (and d-bol). If my test numbers are still as high as they are, i'm just a prime candidate for a heart event at the age of 42.

Any thoughts gentlemen?? Thanks!

Lipid Panel

I am very sorry to hear that his is happening to you! Although I have never had any interaction with Fonz I have read some of his posts and he would be a great source for suggestions in this case. Are you on HGH? You should be on a steady HRT program and HGH given your health issues and not heavy AAS cycles. Good luck man I hope you get better, and do everything that you can to get your cholesterol down.

You have a PM Alan.

Fonz

and take niacin with a COLD glass of water!!!!...the other day i took a pill with a hot soup (i forgot it) and around 20 minutes later my whole body was burning as hell!!!...the shit only lasted about 5 minutes but was very unconfortable...

just a tip.

and by the way..anyone could post a link to that fonz's plan?
Thanks.

Chris, what HIV meds are you on? That degree of dyslipidemia is hard to attribute to the AS alone. Are you on a PI or Sustiva in your regimen? I know they said they added Viread, but that should not affect your lipids much.

If you are on a PI, switching that out will likely improve your lipds more than dropping the AS. You may end up doing this anyway when they realize droppping the AS won't help.

Meds?

Why doesn't he just put you on Zocor or Lipitor? I would think if you need to be on your meds (Deca and Androgel) for the HIV and to keep your mass then he should be just as concerned about that as you cholesterol. Tell him you want to stay on it and to put you on a statin drug stat instead. :)

P.S. The Testim seems to be working for me. My level went from 168 to 423 in 3 weeks.

But isn't he using injectables? I'm on lipitor and haven't had any negative effects, but I only take the Testim Gel. I thought the injectables didn't effect the liver like orals? Or you could go with Whelchol which works throught the digestive tract.

The liver metabolizes everything you put in your body. The liver is the organ that takes the esters off the drugs you inject so they work in your body. This is not a particularly taxing process for most people, but a doctor will look at it. It is most likely contraindictaed to give something as liver toxic as a statin cholesterol drug (zocor etc) to someone on injectable or orals. Gels, and this is my guess, don't need to go through the liver, they are going through the skin in their active form and don't need a 17A group to resist being deactivated during digestion./ so they are not in anyway taxing on the liver.

"and am sucking on the last paper d-bol for a long time."

The nandrolone and T-gel have little effect on lipids. The d-bol on the other hand, given the interaction with other agents could.

If anything drop the d-bol and any other C-17 oral.

The trig level is getting into the range where it could cause pancreatitis.

Something else here besides the androgens are at work. Nandrolone and test shouldn't have that effect on lipids.

Watch the niacin, it can be liver toxic in some in the gram dose range.
