Apparently Chinese tea reduces DHT by 72% and raises testosterone.

(Mice treated with black tea tended to have a greater serum testosterone concentration (34.4%, P = 0.50) and had a 72% lower DHT concentration than controls (P < 0.05), suggesting that black tea may contain components that inhibit the activity of 5-reductase, an enzyme that converts testosterone to the more bioactive DHT. Green tea tended to increase serum testosterone and DHT levels by 73.8% (P = 0.14) and 194% (P = 0.076), respectively. The combination of SPC and green tea reduced serum levels of DHT (P < 0.05). )

Your thoughts on this study?

I wish we can get a picture of what chinese black tea looks like.

Can I get it from any regular GNC or supplements store?

Yeah, you can get it pretty much anywhere. They even sell it on Amazon.

I just wonder if it works on humans and how much one would have to drink.

I found it at "Goodies" It's a supermarket next to my place. I'm going to buy some today. I guess we'll see.

Will you be testing your hormone levels?

I've been taking 2 cups a day for about a month now but I'm not sure if its enough especially since the rats in the study were drinking the tea evey time they felt thirsty (which im assuming would be pretty often if they weren't eating).

I was considering making up a liter of iced tea and drinking it.

one thing is that the tea shouldn't be drank with milk.

Tea is IMO, better for you than water.
Less caffeine & easier on the stomach than coffee.
Loaded with antioxidants and anti-cancer compounds.

Tea contains L-theanine, which crosses the blood-brain barrier.
Yes, tea is psychoactive (tea gets you high!). It decreases stress.

It is been argued that adding milk to tea negates some of the benefits. Wikipedia article on L-theanine

Green Tea & Black Tea have different levels of beneficial chemicals.
It is best to use both in your tea regimen.

Rooibos (sometimes called Red tea) is actually not tea, but a tisane.
It tastes good and contains no caffeine. It's high in antioxidants also.

Tea is good for your heart, metabolism, and body in general.
It should be your staple drink.

Did I read this correctly? Tea has less caffeine in it than H2O?

No, you didnt read it correctly.
I said tea has less caffeine than COFFEE.

Coffee is beneficial also. Still, when you consider the ingredients most people add to their coffee like sugar and creamer, tea is the clear winner.

Black tea is just what most people would think of as tea that you would drink with milk (and sugar for most).

It can be Assam, Lapsang Souchong, Oolong, Darjeeling, Chai, Earl Grey, Lady Grey, English Breakfast tea................................
