Chicken

This should probably be on the diet board but thought i could ask here first.
I ran across a bag of the precooked Tyson boneless, skinless grilled chicken pieces. Now, I'm contest dieting....would these be an acceptable replacement every now and then for my cooked...and what's the difference? Sodium? I"m not too worried about sodium just yet, but was wondering if anyone used the precooked as opposed to the raw.

Thanks all!!!

Probably fine a long as you're not worried about the sodium. Check the ingredient list REALLY close for anything else that might throw you for a whammy...

TONS if sodium, that's why I stay away from them. Stinks cuz it's quicker and easier to make, but read the label on those suckers! Sheesh!

I eat these, don't see a problem with them at all...

:qt:

What's the sodium restriction for contest dieting anyway?

They are the sauceless ones right?? I don't see a problem with using them, although I find them horribly expensive....

How many weeks are you out from your competition?

Bunny, athletes cut out the sodium in their diet close to their comps, so they look tighter. Sodium makes you retain water.

If you aren't competing there's no need to cut out your sodium, competition dieting is on a whole another level, let me tell ya. But you'll find out when you decide to compete right Miss Hawwty Hawwty ;)

Linzie, be careful not to cut it too soon.

Thanks :rose:shortcake:rose: ... I just didn't know if ya'll were cuttin it out completely...which I could never do anyway ;)

No comps for me :D but thanks for the vote of confidence :bigkiss:

Like the others said, sodium is the biggest concern. BUT, I have noticed that on some frozen chicken the nutritional value isn't as good as fresh - the protein is lower and the fat is higher. Just check the label and compare with your normal chicken.

You be the judge of whethter it fits into your diet. :)

Hey girl... no problem.... Yea you got it correct :)

You don't need to worry about cutting out the sodium just yet, you should be cut it in the last few weeks before the competition.
