I believe that's the Women's Chinese Heavyweight. The Chinese are masters at "arching". It certainly takes something away from the bench press but technically it is still within the rules. I don't agree with the extreme arch that some competitors utilize. It creates a "bastardized" form of the bench press. My .02!
So some people have a biomechanical advantage for a certain lift. This usually tends to hurt them on another lift. If I could cut my stroke down like that I sure would. I might finally hit my goal of a double bodyweight bench.
I wonder what would they do if one of these contortionists could arch even more than this? The moment she unracks the bar it will already be on her chest Will she still be required to perform any kind of movement?
it certainly is within the IPF rules but apples to apples with a 7-10" bench press? I dont think so. I personally wouldnt feel that proud of a WR 2" bench press or whatever it is. Lock out? oh well...
Oh, I am not so sure I would not. I still remember the SI with the x-ray of his spine. I might be willing to trade to be 15-time world champ. He is my favorite PL'er of all time. Not too many people have records still standing after twenty years.
I wonder what she (Chen) can pull? I would think that the gut would get in the way, to say nothing of the short little T-rex arms.
