My cousin who lives in Arizona sent me this. The italicized text is his-
I’ve seen areas in washes around our mine that have small areas where immigrants have dumped clothes, backpacks, and trash but nothing this extreme. I’ve heard from friends of mine who were out hunting and have come across piles of dozens of backpacks full of supplies just awaiting the next group of immigrants. Then several miles later they’ll find a massive dump area similar to the one below.
Just another aspect of the problems posed by illegal immigration.
It is a big problem down here. It’s a little unnerving to come across these areas as I have a few times while out in the field.
As for the clean up; it’s mostly done by fed up citizens or if it gets bad enough the county will clean it up. Most sites don’t get cleaned up though as they fill up almost as fast as you can clean them, or they just find another place to dump the trash. Not to mention that a majority of the sites are fairly remote and not easily accessible.
There are stories of people being shot at who try to clean up these areas because drug traffickers use them as transfer points too. They’ll drop several backpacks of drugs and then sit on a hillside and wait for the proper people to pick them up, shooting at those that shouldn’t be there. I talked to a surveying crew that was shot at while just doing some surveying for a new mine in the Santa Rita Mountains.

But still, there is a serious problem with how this issue is currently being handled, as these pics point out.
About 1.5 miles south of Tucson-
It is estimated over 5,000 discarded backpacks are in this wash. Countless water containers, food wrappers, clothing, feces, including thousands of soiled baby diapers. And as you can see in this picture, fresh footprints leading right into it.
The trash left behind by people illegally crossing our border is another Environmental Disaster to hit the USA .
If these actions had been done in one of our Northwest Forests or Seashore National Parks areas, there would be an uprising of the American people.....but this is the Arizona-Mexican border.
