Cheap Places to Buy Meat in Bulk?

Anyone know of cheap places/sites to buy quality meat in bulk? What are typical prices at a butcher for chicken, turkey, etc?


One trick I've done is go to a buffet restaurant that lets you get a "to go" order for $3.49/lb and getting nothing but steak or chicken.

I just go the Grocery Store and find the meat that expires the next day...the butchers usually discount that by 60-70% where I live, then I take it all home, cut it up , weigh it, and freeze it.

You got to go to a Sam's Club if you can, they have unbelievable prices, its the only way to afford to eat alot of meat. Its about half what you pay at the grocery store!

I just go over my rediculously loaded friends house. He feeds me steak whenever i want, seriously i have stopped over ate and left for no reason.

Now for somethign that can actually help you...... Sams club is great, its also nice to KNOW people too. if you know what i mean

Usually i check the local grocery weekly ad for sales on meat. If i don't see what i like, i go to this local Korean grocery store that sells Beef Tenderloin $3.99/lb in the shrink wrap bag from 4-7 lbs. While other stores sells it for $7 and up/ lb of tenderloina. I also go to Costco for their steaks that are on sale sometimes, pick up their frozen chicken breast, chicken tenders, and salmon squares. Eat most of it with little jasmine rice or flour tortilla.

Should see the looks i get when i grocery shop. its kinda funny. Meat/potatoes guy.

go to a meat shop and buy a hind quarter of beef.

Its a pretty decent price there, but the cuts are top quality. They always look great.
