Chains and Bands

What is the reason to use chains and bands? How do you use them? I cant find any info out on this. Thanx:confused:
 
Accomodating resistance. Very useful for working portions of the lift, particularly lockout, by adding weight to one part of the lift and not another....great way to gain speed too.
 
Im gonna put these in on my dynamic squat days. See if i cant add a few inches to my verticle, and some speed to my sprint with these.
 
Are they usefull for bodybuildingpurposes also ?

I was thinking of doing for instance heavy dumbell flyes with chains attached. Once you get past the 2/3 of the movement, you tend to lose a lot contraction in the top-position with flyes, it would be nice if you could keep more tension there.
