Okay, so the other day I was gonna take the car to the shops (I normally walk) as I needed to buy dog food, and I didn't wanna walk with it... until I asked myself "why not?". So I did - I bought groceries that weighed about the same as the bag of dog food (8kg - I know, not much use to most of you
), and carried the groceries in one arm, dog chow in the other, and walked using as strict a form as I could (straight back, shoulders firmed, for about 2-3km). I'm now suspecting this is either a really good idea, or a really bad one - I was STILL feeling it in my traps yesterday. So I turn to the gurus - what kind of idea am I messing with here? Am I more likely to do harm or good?
Does carrying weight over distance yield any practical gain?
