Cardio while cutting up?

I read today that it is better to do a short but intense aerobic workout like sprints than it is the traditional 30-45 minutes moderate jogging or biking. What do you all think? How long should a workout like this last?
 
I don't know but I don't buy it, I do very low intense cardio for 40-45 min. I try not to do anything that will sacrifice more muscle tissue while dieting.
 
bumpo and partyboy have excellent points,
sprinting WILL shred you but i like to mix both high and low intesity. keeps the machine guessing and you'll train different muscles too.
 
so what would be a qood workout do you think? How many sets of sprints should i do for a workout, and for how long?
 
Our track is only 1/8 mile around, I think that is only like 200 m around. So should i just sprint a lap and then jog a lap and keep alternating? How long should this work out last?
 
Unless you're cutting with AS, I wouldn't do sprints or run...unless you don't mind losing a significant amount of muscle mass. If you just want get ripped, I agree, sprints will get you there....but if you want to keep your hard earned muscle. Then low to moderate cardio is what you want to be doing. Like walking on a treadmill at 12-15% at a speed of 3 MPH. for 40 mins. This will spare muscle and burn fat.

that's exactly what I do, and if you've never tried it, it's hard shit.
