Cardio for cutting!

Hey elite peeps,how much cardio should I incorporate to cut body fat a week.I was mainly going to hit the treadmill,just wondering how many minutes a day and how many days per week?Thanks
 
The variations are infinite... every person will have a different approach, depending on lots of factor: genetics, BMR, how easily they loose LBM, etc...

I am an Endo-Meso, what I have found works the best for me is 45 min steady state cardio @ 75~ 85% MHR, 6 times a week. I drop fat like a mofo doing that.

Some people get away with only 2-3 times/week at a much easier pace...
 
I have been doing the spinning class for about 3 weeks 5xs a week and definitely have seen results. Even after the first week I could tell I was losing body fat, and that was without doing anything else. I had to take a week or so off for finals, but I am going to start back on Monday and can't wait. If I only got this concept earlier I would be the sexiest chick ever!!! :qt: ...j/k. I think I may be obsessed with the spinning class.

How many cals you burning a session?

I wanna say about 500 to 600 calories for 45 minutes. You come out soaking in sweat feeling like you have actually accomplished something. I go in stressed out and come out feeling like nothing can ruin my day. Some days I want to got twice a day. I haven't done that yet, but I guarantee you will love !!! :)

I need to do at least an hour on the eliptical 6 times a week. It's better if I can also add three days of two hours (one hour in the morning and one hour at night). I don't know, but I must have a slow matabolism because I need to get that much in before I start seeing results. Even then, it takes several months for the cardio to start to show up in my body fat reduction. I watch my diet and do about 2500 cals a day. I weight train 5 days a weeks. I am 58 yo. Don't know if this helps, but I guess we are each different.

1/2hr per day going balls out and you will see good results. Diet is the key though.
 
I agree with Bowtech...go all out on whatever you do. Cardio for at least 30 minutes a day plus the weights. You dont have to do two or three hours of insane cardio to get the cutting you want...and diet is absolutley key...NO CHEATING!!!!!!!
 
30 minutes of cardio 3-4 times a week post workout gets me nice and cut. When I go immediately from weights to cardio, my hear rate is instantly where I want it. 75% of my max. I can hit about 8% using this. To get lower, maybe more cardio, but I haven't really been much lower than that. Not for very long anyway.

The rest is all in diet though.
 
60mins 6x a week. 30 minutes first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, 30 minutes in the evening. Unless hitting the weights.

Saying that if you are not using some sort of gear, cut back to just 30 mintues a day 6 x week. Otherwise you will be a 'catabolic furnace', for sure! :worried:
