Over the course of several years on this board, I have watched people and events come and go.

But I have never seen the amount of whining and complaining that I have observed due to the selction of the newest mods. When I became a mod last year, everyone said "welcome", or "good luck", or something to that effect.

Now I see "why wasn't I picked?" and "I can't believe this" or "there's going to be censorship...."

I truly wish I could see the people doing this in real life. I would take your picture, and post it on the Internet as the true definition of a whiny little bitch! You know who you are. Fucking grow up.

matt what can I say. NO WE WON'T SHUT UP. Big deal so a year ago when you were made a mod you were welcomed, and I probably said congrats at the time too. But don't be so narrow minded here. People here are pissed at the fact that George asked the board member's to nominate mods, some people took the time to think carefully who make a good moderator for their particular board of interest, mine was the Gear pix and discussion boards first, this one second and so on. But it then appear's as though we were ignored. Like your self I've seen everything come and go around here, and i agree also that this is running on, but lets face it, it has 'legs', it's going to run. And now what have we got, a 'them and us' board, because there's very little chat and conversation here these last few days. So please do me a favour don't come the big brother with us here byt making this a sticky post and closing ranks with the other mods.
I've said this more than once, as have other's. Generally the nominations were good, but when you look at the common theme running through the debate what do you see Matt ?, listen to what we're saying here.

hey matt, can you make my thread Elite Tyrants a sticky also? it is in direct relation to your thread and parallels it in importance. the difference is that it voices the opinion of the members not the authoritarians. i believe if you were truly an unbiased, fair person who truly believes and supports democracy that you should make it a sticky. otherwise you go against everything our ancestors and the founders of this country died for.

johhny O no-one gives a shite about the mods being gay (meant in a nice way ), aside from the usual pagan worshipers.

a lot of people i think were more pissed about relativly new people or people that hadnt posted much on certain boards (or any damned boards) being 'modified' (see bouncers post on varnsens thread i believe), when people felt there were much better choices availible (i.e. have been around much longer). and also that boards like between the sheets have an extorsionate amount of mods (was this for monitoring any 'dodgy pics') while boards like training dont.

of course seeing as this is the internet, i really dont give that much of a rats arse....i might of liked the mods to be more multicultural, but since i know nothing about some of them, they probably are, as there is wayyy to much racial shit on these boards (or there were). its also good uve got a few more mods from this side of he pond (though im not sure why )....hell, as long as nudies keep being posted on between the sheets it all good

On that point I have a question for you Matt: On another thread you said that things would settle down after awhile, that the new moderators were just seeing what this option or that one does. My question there was does that mean that some of the new mods. are basically children playing with a new toy?

I never whined to become a mod. I posted once on the pic's of members to be a mod out of fun. I was gone working on my business and came back and I was a mod. I am not perfect and do not spend my life here, but I will moderate as needed within the rules.

I can see their point, I mean they did get asked to nominate new mods...I guess some feel their nominations didn't count, but then again, it's george's site, and he's the one who has to appoint people that HE feels would do a good job. I dunno. Half the people that are now mods, i don't even know much about really.

all my posts and threads were originally just me joking around. i meant nothing by any of those. i was just practicing my political savvy in a heated arena and threw a little fuel in the fire, as is my right (or so i thought until matt reminded us that this is a private owned forum - phhhtttt..).

while i was laughing at what i was writing, i also thought that some of it held true and that some opinion did need to be voiced. not to detriment the board, but to improve it, so that all sides no where the other is coming from and the board and it's members come together as a whole.

so matt sent me a pm, to which i was going to reply nicely to saying that i was sorry and didn't really mean anything about it. UNTIL i noticed that my thread "elite tyrants" had been deleted.

now that was below the belt. there was no reason for that to be deleted.. none at all. it was members of the board discussing issues regarding the board, and why shouldn't it been left there for everyone to read and debate and discuss and voice their opinion??

so now, i will now discuss my arguments against the contents of matt's PM and matt's point of view on this post and regarding this topic.


1. everybody has been letting their voice be heard for the past three days, and all of a sudden mine can't?? why? because i had legitimate gripes and used language which was thought provoking and may have swayed some of the board member's opinions?

2. i am not upset by the mod choices at all.

3. the "chat and conversation" board = any topic right?? and why shouldn't it be the place for our voice to be heard? because it is an open forum? because the members of the board might really see what is going on?

4. i am not angry.. actually i am now... but i wasn't before.

5. why would i direct my anger toward george instead of talking it out with all the involved parties, in the open, so the issues can be resolved?

6. reread your original post matt.

Just to clarify...

I have nothing personal against Matt the Skywalker or any of the mods on this board. It is their recent principles that have me up in arms.

So Matt and the other Mods, do not take what I have written personally. Take it as a means of resolving the issues that recently reared their ugly heads. Although I'm sure Matt will be a little more torqued off than the rest, as I posted the contents of his PM, and that's understandable. But I saw no better way to get my message across at the time. I have since removed the contents of his message as I realized the errors in my ways.

I want nothing more than to have a calm, level-headed discussion to reach an agreement, but unfortunately I am not immune to letting my anger get the best of me and letting it come out through my words. If I have personally offended anyone, I apologize.

The issue that I am upset about is that my thread was deleted because of the personal bias of one of the mods, OR SO IT SEEMS. If that is not the case, and there was a legitimate reason to delete my thread, then please explain why it was taken down.

I really enjoy this site. I am grossed out by some of the content I have seen. For what it's worth, I agree with decem (even though I really really dislike his signature) and winny fan (who can be mildly obnoxious from time to time). While 'illegal' content should probably be removed (kiddie porn and the like), I don't see why:

a) the 'elite tyrants' thread was removed;
b) this thread is a sticky (abuse of 'power')


You should prob. reinstate the tryants thread out of fairness unless it had extreme content. Deleting it was a shitty thing to do, and who really cares anyway?


but all in all, it's a great site and I get a lot of amusement from it. My very boring day at work (we are in the midst of being absorbed...) is a lot less dull thanks to this place, and I have also learned quite a bit to boot.

I have NO IDEA who deleted the tyrant thread. I personally disagree with it. It was my second time using the sticky feature, in several months. hardly abusive. It is discouraged by Georege anyway. I very rarely do it.

I would not delete a critical thread. I don;t mind the criticism. There is (was) a deeper point to this thread and those who PMed me learned it.
