You are talking about two totally different things. Ketosis and ALA have nothing to do w/ each other.
Ketosis is a state of catabolism that your body enters, for easier terms - a matabolism that uses fat for energy (stored or dietary). Thus, while in ketosis you eat no carbs, provided proper nutrient intake your body will use Ketones (by products of FFA - free fatty acid- breakdown) for energy, which is like saying your body uses it's own stored fat for energy (that's a simple way to put it). Ketosis is one of the hottest topics when it comes to dieting, and it will always be. It's great for dieting down to a low bf% (single digits), but it's NOT the only diet out there that is effective. READ my CKD manual, it's a STICKY on top of the DIET page.....
ALA is a glucose disposal agent, meaning it takes some of the carbs, which are basically converted to glucose either way, you eat and shuttles them into the muscle tissue rather than fat tissue (as insulin would do). It's an advanced supplement which can work not only as a glucose disposal agent, but also as a anti-oxidant.
