brownies in the office...

New member
Yikes! My boss brought homemade brownies to the office this morning and I ate 3 of them! PMS is officially here...Auntie Flo should arrive within 1-2 weeks!

Okay, time to re-group and spend some extra time in the gym tonight. Grrrrrrreat...just great! Guilt got the best of me now.

I hear ya girl! MY boss (evil wench!! lol) has a big bowl of reese's Pb cups, fast breaks, et al on her desk. Oh, and these cinnamon graham cookie sticks. So, let's see I had 2 fast breaks, 1 PB cup & 6 cinna stix. Oh & a Luna Bar cuz I was still craving chocolate!! I'm due on 9/3. Oh joy of joys.

how about a CINNABON cinnimon roll, heated with a cold glass of milk???? my training tip for those of you PMSing.....thought I could be of help......LOL

PBR -- I hate you! No, not really! But, man those things are good. I haven't had one of them in about 10 years!!

Oh man, I'm a sucker for the Reece's PB cups!

I weighed in last night and my weight was within the usual 5 lb. fluxuation. I figure the brownies will show up on the scale later this week...

Today I will be a good girl. I went to my weekly 5 am spin class and ate my cereal for breakfast. I am so tired this morning...time for a caffeine boost!

jens.....really you hate me??? its been 2 years for me....thought I could get one of you girls to have one so that I could vicariously live thru the experience of having one...damn......LOL

PBR -- no I said "not really" so I don't hate you. But no more tempting with thoughts of Cinnabons! Bad! Bad!

But everytime I walk by the place at the mall I sniff a whole lot -- kinda like what I do outside my house when my neighbors are having a "party" if you know what i mean. LOL

Whenever dieting, when someone at work would offer me something like that my standard response was "You fucking know I can't eat shit like that...asshole/bitch (depending on gender)! How about if I stick that brownie up your ass!"

Nonerz, try it, after you do that to about 4 or 5 people in front of a group, especially when no one at work has ever seen you not be cheerful (I'm happy all the time in public), NO ONE will offer you junk food again.

Thanks for the tip...but that wouldn't go over very well in my office! Plus, I'm a "nice girl" and should realize that those goodies are not good for me! For a long time I showed great will power and was able to turn away even the yummiest looking treats! I just wanted the results more than the brownies, donuts, candy, etcetera. I was at the point where I counted every single solitary calorie! It was a bit nuts now that I'm reflecting back on it. I've now taken the mindset that I train hard, I make better choices now and I shouldn't beat myself up when I want a treat. The latter is the hard one for me...

BTW, my nickname was the "Food Nazi." ;)

PBR -- <<<<<<<hugs>>>>>>

BBF -- In my office that would be considered hostile work environment!! We get written up for looking sideways at people. I'm still on probation for crossing my eyes!! LOL

Although I'm sure it would be effective....

Its quite effective actually. It shocked people alot, because I'm always so cheerful and nice to everyone. LoL

I have a couple of coworkers who push baked goods like crack dealers. They make you feel like an awful person for declining. My favorite was when one of them was trying to give me a giant piece of carrot cake and explained that it was healthy because it didn't have nuts in it. lol

Not to say that I never eat sweets, I certainly do-- but I plan them. I have ice cream on Sundays. I can stay out of most everything junky all week when I promise myself ben and jerry's with breakfast on Sundays.

Right, I love people's perception of what is healthy. A guy I worked with always complained because he couldn't loose his gut, and he would ask me for advice, and never take it. He was always eating canned pears and nutrigrain bars at work. WHen I would say something about the pears, he would say they were ok becuase they were healthy. Hmm.. lets see, since its canned, most of the nutrients have been lost. Most of the calories are from fructose, which when eaten in large amounts slows down metabolism, and then its canned in pure sugar. Nutrigrain bars... loaded with sugar, void of nutritional value, and have hydrogenated oils in them. I don't eat that bad on some of my cheat days.

Raina, I know... they always try to make you feel bad and try to stuff it down your face, which is why I am such an asshole about it. People need to respect other people's lifestyles. I don't hold them down and inject them with testosterone or trenbolone... so they shouldn't try to force feed other people crap that will kill them and make them a lard ass. People like that really piss me off, which is hard to do... because I like most people.

Yeah, I used to get into the "healthy" VS "clean" with people - it never works. I always end up getting "What's wrong with fruit? It's healthy!" or "What's wrong with cereal? It has no fat and milk has protein!"

Ugh. I gave up. They eat how they want, I eat how I want and that's that. If they have an issue with it, tough. :)

Right. LoL I hear the same things. Then they ask me why I eat so much meat... and "is that oil dumped all over your salid?", "You are eating alot of cheese, that can't be healthy.", "Ewwww... your peanut butter is runny... that stuff is fattening you know."

Oh yeah, the oils and nuts. I forgot you get that a lot from most women. Those are the women who cut out fat ENTIRELY and think weight lifting will make them "look like a man because they get really bulky when they lift". Ugh.

My most recent favorite was when my coworkers were talking about their lunches out & blah blah blah & you never come with. I told them they don't invite me which is why I don't go with them. Their reply? Well, we don't invite you cuz you eat weird things!

What's weird about chicken, vegetables & salad?? Oh wait, they aren't fried or covered in grease.

The other thing people always say is "but it's all natural". I always point out that cocaine is too. Or snake venom. That doesn't mean we should consider either a "healthy" part of our daily diets.

I think it's easier to resist that kind of stuff now. On the occasions that I actually have cheat food at work 1) everyone gives me such a hard time about how I'm being a "fallen dietary angel" or some sort and 2) it never even tastes that good. The guy next to me is less-than-lean and sits there sipping slim fast for breakfast shaking his head that I'm eating almonds. It floors me that people don't see the connection between my body fat and what I do/do not eat.

I don't force my lifestyle on other people. I'm certainly glad to share information when people ask and will even do more research if I don't feel I can give a solid answer, but I wouldn't try to convert someone. I don't even make my bf eat clean. I just buy him junk food that I wouldn't eat if someone paid me. To each their own.

:FRlol:

Raina, good example, I use the golden-arrow-poison toad for people who use the "its all natural" line. Its totally natural, but if you put it in your mouth, you'll still be dead in less than one minute.

First they don't understand why you eat this or that and why you avoid those crap

Then they feel jealous because they know they are not eating clean but they don't have the will power to change their habits, eat healthy and move their fat ass :D

AMEN!

Reading through this thread totally hit home for me. I work with pretty much all women and they ALL give me crap for the way I eat. I don't do the low-carb deal anymore, but I still limit my carbs. I really get annoyed when I let them get to me for giving me shit about not wanting to go out after work for dinner and/or drinks. I have ONE cheat day a week, and god for bid I should want to save it for the weekend and not use it within the first few days of the week to go out with them. They are always asking me for advice, so I tell them what I think or about stuff that I've learned on here. Of course they don't listen to anything I say, but whatever...I wish people would just mind their own business. One of these days, I am going to sit there and critique everything they eat and see how they like it. Just because they are saying shit to me about being strict with myself and trying to eat as healthy as possible, they think it's ok. BUT, God forbid I would say one thing about their shitty eating habits...
