lol. I used to think that if you were famous, you were successful. That is really not the case anymore. Sure, being famous generally means you will have money. But dude, most famous people are so far from living "successful" lives that that is the only reason people keep giving them money - otherwise they'll die and we won't be ablet o laugh at them or exploit them anymore. It's the only way they are capable of entertaining.

I really find it to be an unappealing aspect of humanity - we've almost completely forgotten about talent and exploring some of the cool things people do and instead are content to be entertained by the worst aspects of humanity. That's kind of sad. I'm sure it's always been like this, but I seem to recall more praise being given and less critiquing.
