Bridge spanning Miss River collapses during rush hour in MN

This is straight up motherfucking bullshit! I love the toned down news "we don't know how many injured". Injured! You stupid fucks! How about how many DEAD! There will be shitloads!

I suspect not terrosim as the bridge had weak points due to construction but won't totally say it was not. I believe there have been certain activities that they cover up to keep panic under control.

Well if this isn't an example of our infrastructure gone to hell in a fucking hand basket! I know.............let's send even more $ to Iraq!

Did anyone notice how high the bridge next to it is? I would have to assume everyone on the bridgetop is most likely dead. I hope not, but id be surprised if that schoolbus has anything in it other than red.

I just heard about this. A very sad day. I lived in Roseville, Minnesota when I attended college in Mpls, used to travel 36 to I35 and across that bridge everyday. Also traveled the parallel Lake Street Bridge to work. It just makes me sick.

My sympathies to those lost and their families

Reports say the children were evacuated

Being on a bridge and watching the sections give in a domino effect has to be the most surreal feeling.

My heart goes out to the families of those who died. Imagine taking your normal work commute and this shit happens.

It's unfair. It's beautiful. Enjoy it people.

i drove over this bridge at 5pm (1 hr before it happened), rush hour was definately packed due to the construction on the bridge.
thankfully i was able to get off work early yesterday.

It looks puny compared to the concrete & steel one next to it.

It's not, it was an 8-lane interstate.

It's an epic tragedy and it could have been much worse. Reports say the current construction phase had cut the accessible lanes to one in each direction and the traffic, apparently, was at a standstill when it collapsed. Can you imagine if 8 lanes had been opened during rush hour with vehicles traveling at 60mph, and then it collapses?

CNN is happy, they were having a slow news month.
CNN exploits everything to the MAX.
We had a bridge collapse up in Montreal, 5 ppl dead and the media didn't put it on tv 24/7

I drive the I-93 tunnel in Boston (the Big Dig) about once a week. That sucker is the next one to crumble.

Can you imagine being on a school bus that somehow stayed on a section that fell about 55 feet......and never tipped over?

I don't care if it was a one lane road, it still looks puny.

? It was an 8-lane interstate, and I'm sure to the poor folks on the bridge, it looked like a massive wave of hell buckling towards them.

Are you on drugs today?

I just say 'no'. However, you can't seem to grasp the fact that I35 is an 8-lane interstate, not a one lane road. As far as I remember, the bridge/street running parallel is still a four lane crosstown (Marshall Avenue in St. Paul turns into Lake Street in Mpls).

lol

I simply stated that the bridge that collapsed looked "puny", especially compared to the one next to it.

pu·ny /ˈpyuni/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[pyoo-nee] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–adjective, -ni·er, -ni·est. 1. of less than normal size and strength; weak.

I do structural engineering. That's what I was referring to - the structure. Perhaps you were referring to the size and volume of traffic it receives. Thus causing our confusion.

:)

From aerial shot and perspective, talking 'bout......
Me=width
You=height

I believe the Lake Street bridge is higher...so, of course more elaborate infrastructure. I35 is lower, so it may appear, from the perspective of an aerial shot, *puny* in comparison.
