Boston is a really nice place

I've been going up to the BC area where my girl's apartment is and can honestly say Boston is growing on me. I can best describe it as city convenience with a historic town atmosphere...clean and spacious too...especially for a city. Don't get me wrong, the people are still fuggin weird, and I would never live there, but the place is otherwise pretty nice. Plus everyone is sad/upset/mad because the Sox couldn't cut it this year.

Yo mightymouse, you around the Newton/BC area?
 
I grew up in RI and have spent a ton of time in Boston. On paper, it's a fantastic city. Great food, good nightlife, good sprots atmosphere, nice culture/history. TERRIBLE roads. Something about the aura of it thoug - I would never live there. The personality of that city doesn't vibe well with me. But I've never had a bad time there.
 
Cool, you going with out with a Screaming Eagle huh Swole? Its a great place to hang, have you been going down to MaryAnn's (the BC hangout) or enjoying the downtown clubs in Fenway?

I'm "downtown" where the Wops live.

I used to drink at Flann Obrien's all the time in Roxbury when a few buddies of mine lived there. lol, that place was so classless. that's back when we were into small pub drinking - we would seek out tiny joints that had good songs on the jukeboxes. we used to go to a place called "The Irish Pub" in NYC too, in midtown. same type of place.
 
Roxbury??? No one goes to Roxbury...thats not Boston bro?

a good irish pub is a great place to get drunk.if there good the beer is cheap and they serve it in larg stines.some times they will give you free shots with every other beer stine.you can realy get fucked up in a joint like that.

Boston is probably the coolest city on the east coast. So much history there, and I love how they mix the old colonial buildings in with the new. Think of how many famous people are buried there too.

Also they have an awesome Little Italy.

Providence is better. :) You just need a local old school Italian guide to show you the places to go.

Nope I like the nice quiet area where the neighbors are about 2 miles away! lol

Now really boston is really noisy sompared to where I live

We went there for happy hour yesterday. Let me tell you when I saw the outside I was like, um...I'm not drinking in that piece of shit place. Then we went inside and I asked for a whiskey and coke. Guy askes me what kind of whiskey. I said crown. He's like we only have jack. I'm like OK. Then he goes, we only have diet pepsi. I'm like OK. Then i got shitfaced while making fun of the herbh lookin Boston people. It was one of those nights where I really wish I wore a Yankees cap.

But in all honesty it was a good time...I would love to hit up little italy sometime soon...I'll drop you a line next time I'm in the area.
