boost bench

hi, i currently train each bodypart every 6/7 days, but my bench has always been quite poor and my pecs are proportionately smaller than my other muscles. do u think i should fit just the bench press exercise in one more time a week so that i do it twice a week? or just stay the way i am doing everything equally? thanks

I would like to hear everyones reviews on this as well. I wouldnt say that my chest is small by any means, but I started about a month ago working my chest out twice a week.

I do understand that this guy does have a lot of red karma, but you seem to only be concerned with your number of post. I don’t understand why someone who wants some help can get answers like yours. You might say, we don’t want all these post in the wrong forum due to clutter. And I would say, a mod will move it. Don’t waste your time giving people information that is useless.

I gathered one of two things from your post. One: You don’t have an answer for his question, or two, you just want to post things to try and get your number of post up.

Enough for now, because my hypocrisy can only go so far with this post.

And please, please, don’t pull the card that I'm a newbie and to shut up. I have been around here since when E2 and canbano were mods.

This just isnt directed at your post, but you were the lucky chosen one :)

No offense taken bro, but if you do a search and go back and look at this guys post history, you would know why he has so much red karma. you pretty much jumped in the middle of something without having any idea whats really going on so i dont expect you to understand it. And i have been around since 2001 under one name or another so i doubt i am about post count. I could care less. So it might help if you dont comment on something when you dont have any clue what REALLY going on.. Thankyou

like i said, no offense taken. Next time do some research so you understand things and dont comment on something when you have no idea whats going on.

Take care

What kind of chest specific excercises are you currently doing?

IMO unless you're a powerlifter, who gives a flying **** what you can bench.

I agree 100%-unless I missed the episode of Sex And The City where some tramp says she only fucks guys that bench 350+???

BP is the most overated exercise there is. If any one exercise was a true overall measure of one's strength it would be the squat.

Big weights stimulate tissue. The bigger you bench - with high intensity - the bigger you will grow.

Yeah i wouldnt give a fuck either about strength, but he also says his chest is proportionately smaller in regards to his other muscles. I definitely would want me tits to look good at least. :coffee:

In my opinion, worrying about how much you can bench press is the biggest reason someone will end up with an underdeveloped chest. If you are worrying too much it will lead to you always doing doubles or singles, always trying to go "super" heavy, and using too much of a spot....forget about the weight and stick with the basic principles.

Also, for the true test of power......the clean and press gets my vote.

i do flat bench 4 sets
decline dbell 3/4 sets
incline dbell 3/4 sets
flat flyes 3 sets

all 8-10 reps

I personally just use incline, incline dbell, and flys(flat and incline).. Pec dec and the other machines once every 2-3weeks.. I rarely bench, and think decline is a waste of time.. Just my opinion.. Dips are great too, if done correctly..

I know light heavyweights on the national level that never go over 225 and their chest looks great. Lot's of guys grow off of high reps exclusively.

Try mixing it up a little shock the muscle with diffrent types of lifts and most impotantly use correct form. I have the same problem with my shoulders and arms not being proportionate to my chest. It sucks. If you feel rested enought to hit the pics twice a week try it.
