After looking at that hit a few times. In cooke's defence. He never left his feet, his elbow was down, and it was from the side. Yes that was a mean hit, but it was done cleanly.

In old nhl rules, some one would stand up for Savard and just get 5 mins for fighting. Now a days if they do, they will get kicked out of the game for standing up for their own team mate. Its total bs, fighting is a important part of the game for that reason.
