Blood tests/x-rays

Recent blood test I had done showed 2 things:
Very high bad cholesterol and
Very low good cholesterol

Other thing, today I had a follow up x-ray, look at my avatar, leg to the right is my left leg, I need a hip replacement because it's literally bone on bone. It was diagnosed 8 years ago but has gotten progressively worse. It's unbelievable for my age, the doctor is almost dumbstruck. The right leg (to the left in avatar) is fine. Perfect for my age. It's f--ked up. I have to now seriously start contemplating a hip replacement. Doctor told me I'll feel great and I can recover to the same strength and development, but with a long scar on side of upper leg/hip (that's okay). But he said don't go crazy with activity after the new hip is put in, because the more you use it the less time it will last until you need another one. Apparently, Bo Jackson is on his 3rd or fourth already.

Oh boy, brothers, that shit we hear about getting old is all true. :(

Man, not the news anyone wants to hear.. The positives I can think of are that you have good leg development now, so getting back to what you have now shouldnt be a problem at all.. In addition because you have such good leg developement maybe it'll mean you can use a little LESS weight and maintain your size with less stress on the joints.. Lastly, everyone gets old so if you can get new parts in your now, when recovery will be easier, I would say go for it..

I tore my left labrium in my shoulder. While the doc was in there he basically did a "minor" reconstructive surgery.. I wish my right shoulder felt as tight as my left one.. It make take a little strecthing but its as solid as a rock.. Your doc knows whats good for you.. so do it now when you can bounce right back!!!

Thanks bro. I know it's probably the best thing so I'm going to research it and then make an informed decision. I've known about it for a long time but it's been obvious lately that I'll have to do something soon. All I hear all the time is "why are you limping?" Then at night the pain in knee and hip can be bad not to mention the delightful clicking I hear in my hip, especially when squatting. Believe it or not there are bone fragments just floating around in the socket from the bones scraping over time. The x-ray and the doctors description and little demonstrations on a model hip had me ready to faint. The fragile nature of the human body has always done that to me, that's why they say women are the stronger sex. We can start wars and shoot other men and blow them up but it takes a special person to be able to deal with the aftermath of blood and bone and to tend to the wounded. It all makes me kind of light-headed.

But hey, after my recovery, I'll be like the bionic man, ready to fight for the great USA against our next, and hopefully last, foe Iran. I don't know what you guys think but be on the lookout for Armageddon, you can't even blame Bush on this one, the Iranians are begging for a confrontation. So thank Bush for the foresight to invade Iraq and Afghanistan, we've got the Iranians sandwiched nicely from which to launch an attack. Hopefully, after this war the prophecies are right and one thousand years of peace will follow until the end of the world. Call me crazy but if you guys aren't worried about what's going on around the world you are the ones that might be crazy. :)

I feel your pain - getting old sucks. My body is not the same - I wish I could turn back the clock and be 17 forever (maybe 21 because I like to drink...and chase women)

Good luck with the hip replacement. I had a friend who had it done at age 28 and it was a rought time. He was back in the gym and recuperated just fine though.

For the chollesterol you can fix that by changing your diet and taking supplements. It took me a while to get my HDL up but flax, fish oil, leafy green veggies and fish fixed me up good.

Good luck and hang in there!

Yeah, all it took was 9/11 and a bunch of toothless angry Arabs burning our flag in their streets for us to realize that the micks, dagos, and niggas were actually our fellow Irish-AMERICANS, Italian-AMERICANS, and African-AMERICANS. If we were in a room full of native Africans :rasta: , Italians :Pope: , and Irish :stpatty: and a bunch of Arabs took us hostage, they'd free all the native Irish, African, Italians, and hold the rest of us as Americans. Then we'd have to do a Rambo on them :fistfullo but the point is the rest of the world sees us as Americans and we need to do the same. :)

Let's get back to my high cholesterol otherwise Mr. X is going to move this to the C&C forum and then I'll only get replies from a bunch of freaks I never heard of. :)

For cholesterol (I just posted this in another post so here it is)

I take every day (even when not on cycle)
3.6mg of flax,
3.6mg of fish oil,
at least one serving of fish,
1 serving of leafy green veggies

I recently got some polioscanol and I am working that in at 20mg ED. I also hear niacin works well but I do not take it as an additional supplement because it is harsh on the liver in the dosages you will need to see an improvement in LDL/HDL levels. I've read posts that niacin alone (the 1400mg, slow release type of tabs) will drastically reduce LDL levels. It may be something to look into.

Managing cholesterol levels is a long term process. It can takes weeks and sometimes months to fix your cholesterol levels. Diet and supps work. My doc also gave me a list of foods to eat - oatmeal, whole wheat bread etc. Hit a web search and tweak the diet and you'll be fine.

last time I had my levels checked out (which was 6 weeks after a winnny cycle which should have leveled my HDL levels) my HDL was 45 and my LDL was around 86.
