Blood test results

Got my results back. Most things look good, but there aren't any ranges for some. SO I don't know what they mean. They are also differesnt units of measurements than my last one a year ago. Could someone please tell me what the normal ranges are for these and what some of them mean? here's the ones I'm having trouble with-


Chol/HDL Ratio- 3.75?

Cholesterol Total- 150?

HDL- 40?

LDL cholste3rol- 76

PSA Total(screen)- .70

T4,Free- 1.2

Triglycerides- 168

TSH- 3.25

What the fuck is what here? This is for HRT and last time the test ones just said Test total and test free. WTF? BTW I'm 29 yrs old.

This is your risk factor for heart trouble. You want to be less than 4.9.
You are OK.

Cholesterol Total- 150?
Range is 0-199 ... over 200 is trouble.
150 is great.

HDL- 40?
"Happy" good particals ... 40 or better is great.
You are OK.

LDL cholste3rol- 76
"Lousy" particals. You want to be less than 129.
Again .. you are OK.

PSA Total(screen)- .70
This is a reading of your prostate. Range is 0-4.0. Over 4 is big trouble.
You are OK ... less than 1.0

T4,Free- 1.2
This is thyroid. 0.70-1.48 range.
You are OK.

Triglycerides- 168
Another factor in cholesterol ... tied to sugar intake.
You want to be low ... less than 150.
You are a bit high ... need to cut some fast sugars.
BUT ... your other readings were great with low risk so don't worry.

TSH- 3.25
Thyroid ... range is 0.35-4.94
Again..healthy

You are healthy!!
Hope other numbers were this good.

That's just it. I don't see them anywhere. Would they be listed as something else? Maybe they take longer and are still coming?

The Doc has to check the box on the form that goes to the lab.

The subject and results are posted right on the pages somewhere. Mine is a 4 pager, easy to read.

If he didn't .... WOW ... He is missing the most important info. And you got some serious questions to ask.

If the Doc has a "nurse", she can also discuss the test with you.

Thing is I have had blood work with the same doc before. Test, free test, and liver were the one I always had done. I'll be damned if I'm gonna come off yet again just so their slack ass can take more blood. When they should have gotten it all the first round. I quit HRT for 3 weeks to go through another clinic just so my reg doc I've been with for 15 years can drop the ball. Fuck that!

the doc is going to be manipulating your test (exogeniously) if you're going on hrt. no need to check it, as it's going to go way up. the test you listed are primarily to determine if you hare healthy enough to undergo hrt. he would only check test, free test to determine if you need hrt. sounds like he's allready made that determination.

Sounds right ... The Doc should start prescribing.

It will be interesting to see what he prescribes:
- Topical? This could be Androgel (which can really raise testo levels) or something made by a Compound Pharm.
- Injections? prop or cyp?
- HGH? This is usually offered if budget allows. Doc sells it to you.
- Anti-esto? I'd guess Amiridex. Seems to be the MD fav.

got other numbers today.

BUN- 13 5-25 mg/dl range

BUN/CREAT Ratio- 13 10-20 range

Test total- 144 250-1100 range

test Free- 28.3 40-150 range


Doc said he would refer me to an endocrinologist if I would like. Need to find out if my insurance will cover the HRT there first. otherwise I'm sticking with an out of state clinic. If I did go to an Endo would they take more tests? I started my HRT immediately after getting my bloodwork done so I wouldn't crash and I don't wanna do that again. These test were taken after being off for 3 weeks BTW.

Those were taken after coming off HRT for 3 weeks. My current clinic wanted me to come off for tests, which makes no sense and if I go to a new one I need to come off for new tests anyway. My goal is to run a low dose(200-300mg) indefinately.
