Blood TEST In - I need help reading & analyzing

Had the heart to heart with doctor today. He says, "I don't like the AAS you are taking and want it to stop." I guess he found out from my testosterone serum level reading 3739. Normal is 241-827! Please note we are very close -he has known me since I was shitting in a diaper -great family friend!

My test read as follows:

---------------------My Result---------------Normal------UNITS-----
Cholesterol, total------117 ------------------100-199-----mg/dl
**HDL cholesterol------17--------LOW-------40-59-------mg/dl
LDL cholesterol --------76--------------------0-99--------mg/dl

FSH, Serum
*FSH--------------less than 1.0---LOW------1.4 -18.1----mIU/mL

*Test serum---------3739---------HIGH-------241-827-----ng/dL
Estradiol-------------11------------------------0-53--------pg/mL
prolactin-------------4.6-----------------------2.1-17.7-----ng/mL

Everything with an *asterick NEEDS ATTENTION!

I do not know much about the hormone test as I am just starting to take blood and pay "close" attention as I believe its time to stop just letting the dice roll!

What does LOW FSH level mean and what could it be from. Same question for the the LOW HDL cholesterol -from what and its effects??

i am in in the closing weeks of a 16 week 500mg of Test E and 400-900 EQ/wk

All thoughts and suggestion are welcomed and encouraged -THANKS IN ADVANCE for the support!

Your FSH - follicle stimulating hormone, is low because you are on a cycle.

It means you probably aren't producing any sperm right now, as it triggers the serotoli cells in your testes to do this.

Mava is your expert on how steroids affect cholesterol, I would think that the low HDL is also a result of the cycle.

You need to get tested about three months off cycle to see that everything is normal.

Thanks for the feedback! I need some HCG bad right now as I do feel shut down.

Much appreciated

yup the low hdl is likely from your cycle, altho I'm surprised it got that low from test/eq and no 17aa non-aromatizing compunds (like anavar/winny for example).

its transient and your hdl will recover within about 8 weeks after your cycle ends.

while you're HDL mpaired, you are aging cardiovascularly at an accelerated rate . good times! (not). This is because your hdl (good cholesterol) is what clears out ldl (bad cholesterol) and prevents oxidation and plaque accumulation in your arteries.

While hdl-impaired, you are accumulating more plaque than you would have with normal hdl levels, all other things being equal.

one or two or three cycles wont kill you, but notice that many of the BB and wrestlers who die at a relatively young age dont die of "liver cancer" or other scare tactic diseases associated with steroid use. they die mostly of heart attacks. end stage cardiovascular disease.

If you search my name and policosanol you should bring up a few posts that detail the supplements you can use to protect yourself during this window.

these are some supp's that will help protect you while you are hdl-impaired and will also help you more quickly normalize your lipid numbers once you come off.

Some have had success keeping HDL up and LDL down while on with these, it might be dose dependent on the offending compound. When I went above 50mg Anavar - oxandrolone - , nothing prevented my HDL from temporarily disappearing.

But some of the supp's below (especially the garlic, grape seed extract, and fish oil) provide a substitute HDL function while you are impaired - preventing/reducing new plaque formation and flushing ldl. The garlic studies are the oldest and haven't been negatively critiqued in any serious way thus far.

1) policosanol 20mg evening (+hdl, -ldl, blood thinner also)

2) garlic - cardiac formula dose of garlique or garlicin etc (acts as a substitute/super hdl, clearing ldl and reducing new plaque formation - also a blood thinner)

3) Niacin or inositol hexanicotinate (noflush niacin) - (one of the few substances to raise hdl - the niacin is preferred, but flushing and liver sides)

4) red yeast extract - a natural form of lovastatin, the same ingredient found in prescription stain drugs - (- ldl)

5) psyllium seed husk products/ hi fiber diet (-ldl )

6) diet high in unsaturated fats ("good fats" from vegetbles) mostly monostaurated fats which will raise hdl (olive oil, peanut oils, walnuts etc)

7) cardio, 30 minutes 3x weekly - even brisk walk - (increases hdl)

8) obviously a diet low in "bad fats" (saturated fats- meat and diary, and trans fats)

9) Fish Oil supplements or fish (better balanced than omega-3 pills) reduce risk of CV event and plaque formation .

10) Grape Seed Extract (-ldl, maybe +hdl, more important prevent oxidation of ldl and plaque formation) - similar protection as garlic during hdl-impaired periods such as during cycle and proximate post-cycle
