Jeez man, everyone is trashing the bi-polar peeps. try not to forget whatever attracted you all to them in the first place - the key is to try to take that and incorporate it more into your life than the negative aspects of it. I basically try to isolate myself when I feel destructive.

Please, please don't take any of this as bashing!! For me it's interesting as hell to be able to talk to someone who has so much personal insight to their condition, I shit you not. You are unique, seriously (ooooo, fascinating, let's put him under a microscope and study him *evil cackle*).

I actually wasn't attracted to a bipolar person. My boyfriend was "normal" and went through a very long, horribly stressful experience (a very difficult basic training in which he kept getting recycled) and his mania manifested. Our relationship changed when he started flipping and it slowly fell apart.

There are people who are attracted to that kind of energy but not me, I was hanging on, waiting for the mania to pass to see my boyfriend come out again. I didn't like the person it made him into, especially since I knew what he used to be like.

And like I said, and your doctors have told you, the amount of personal observation you have is unique.

And you described it pretty well. It's the destructive impulses that get you - the easiest way to describe it is that you get constantly bored, no matter what you do. So you end up doing dumb things to entertain yourself, with little to not thought as to the future and the ramifications of your actions. It's basically like desperately trying to cure boredom.
