10 weeks out from the olympia...


getting 500 for reps now too!...

yo, bblazer... if i hit 550 this week, what would you reccomend i aim for on the next round of Coan?... anyone else have any ideas? i will not be squatting, except for oly front squats once a week... which is very low volume for me, as i have ran smolov a couple times...

with 10 weeks is 600 even fathomable?... i will be on 200mg/wk trt...

must be nice being allowed to drop the weights like that.. at my gym they yell at you. i use mats to lessen the noise

ty... i wouldnt exactly call it dropping... though it wasnt set down gently either... they asked me to set my deads down nicer once... i asked the guy to show me how... he walked off and ive never heard another word about making a little noise...
i wont use mats, because however marginally, it would cause the bar to be up higher from the start...
i even walk around in my socks between my sets... most of the management there is pretty cool... i think they let me get away with whatever because they all like my wife ;) im trying to get her to talk to the head manager there to work me out a sponsorship deal...

Awesome lift! Is sumo stance strongest for you? I've only tried sumo a few times but I wonder if it might be a good switch for me at some point. Also your legs are looking jacked in your avatar!

i need to beat this by the end of the year... bumping it for motivation...
tell me what a pussy i have been for not keeping up...
had a bit of time off because of work/finances/drama/kids' sports etc...
didnt do a single squat in about 3 months until yesterday- did leg press once like a month ago thats it-
seen a big guy struggling in the rack with 4 plates... so i went in for the kill...
now i am regretting it...
time to get in the zone :supercool

I find these disappointing "lifts" for me given what I used to do....but I belong to a puff gym so I enjoy immensely that rarely does anyone press or hell DL more than me ...or even dl at all for that matter
my dl is no where near that though because of my spine and my squat sucks the poo for weight...but m probably going to be dropping it anyway here shortly because my obliques are getting out of hand and isn't my current goal

nice log. I like it...I havent pressed close to 600 in like 15 yrs..come to think of it longer more like 18 yrs and I was training for long and high jump at the time

I stick to an very boring 8-10x3 routine with the exception of back and tri-s that I only change up when things are stagnant mainly because Im add and forget where Im at if I change it up

Im always interested to look at peoples logs, male or female to get ideas for my workout and honestly to compare weights to see where I'm at
Im generally surprised by what I see and where I stack up

The pull looked strong. Are you doing ghr and reverse hyper 4xs a week. It looks like you have the leg drive for 550+ easily, but you need to bring up the posterior chain to lock it out. If you arent planning on a full blown max squat session, I would atleast do low box squats as an accessory lift. Also, do different variations of good mornings. One that I really believe has direct carryover to the sq, and dl
 
I feel thatThe chain suspended safety squat bar GM has the best carryover to the sq, and dl. Set the chains or straps to where you would begin to lockout the dl. Make sure you do this exercise explosively. I also like to add bands, chains, or both to increase intensity.

that was gold's gym in oakdale, ca.... from which i quit late last year and was working out at home... until... just the other day with that first squat rack im back at my favorite gym from my past, brenda athletic club... its a pretty bad ass gym...
they have several lanes of a half length olympic pool...
several other pools...
like an acre of tennis courts...
basketball courts...
etc etc.... and they actually have pretty knowlegable staff, they do lessons on most of those sports and then of cousre the usual gym stuff...

ya i didnt really mean to make this a log, was just bumping an old post... but i kind of might just go with it now... i kind of like the 'title'...
i remember my track days... that would have been about 15 years ago for me... i probably weighed like 110lbs :artist:
funny thing is, unlike most guys that put on some size ( i know im still not that big), im probably faster than i was back then...

so with this we will set some goals...
by end of year:
500 squat
300 bench
550 dead

there, now it is in writing... somehow that always seems to keep me pushing harder... i dont always make my goals, but if i fall short it is not by much...

anabolics will be at a minimum... i will be getting more rest though, because at work they just gave me a new position so for half the day i have it VERY easy... this will help a lot...
 
active recovery day... no work either...
helped my brother move in to his new place... consisted of pretty much all of his heavy shit in his three bedroom house that was packed tight... fridge and everything...
on the bright side the day was also filled with pizza, tri tip... and some junk... :verygood:
 
Love the sumo stance! Used to do that, but never saw anyone else do it, so I went to regular... but I think I can do lots more with the sumo! Gonna switch! :qt:

i honestly only get about 10lbs out of it... one day i will put up some conventional vids... i used to do a lot of defeceit pulls with a close stance with over 450lbs... no belt; fun times...

i do prefer the sumo much more though, you get more out of it and it is much more easier on my joints... the form fits my body a lot beter, better leverages... it involves my hips much more...
