Well he was 275 in pumping iron so im gonna say thats pretty close.

He probably is 316, but I thought that a few years ago they said Gunter was the 1st person to break the 300 lb. competition weight. Either way, Ronnie and Jay dwarf a 316 lb. Ferrigno.

I think 316 is pushing it. He may be 6'5, but 316 in competition weight.
That's not big at all bro, compared to most pros. There are guys that are 5'10 and between 270-300 pounds. Add 7 more inches of height to that and only a few more pounds and you look stringy the way he does. I have seen a guy at the state level that was similar to his stats and he didn't even win the show.

Exactly. I'm 5'10" and at peak off season weight right now (280) and I feel like I cant even move. I can't imagine competing at this weight like Jay and Ronnie do. I'm about 50 lbs away from comp weight. But yeah it's incredibly hard to compete if you're far over 6 foot. Gunter does an excellent job, but he still doesn't win with his size. He has great symmetry and proportion. His arms aren't even that big. Oh and I think it doesnt hurt that he reminds people of arnold.

That was Sept 1993 at the Atlanta Civic Center. I was 10 yo and was in the audience with my father. Lou was stupendously gigantic.

Dude that was 13 years ago. Yes that was very big. Granted I was only 10 yo, but you would have had to see him up close to appreciate his massiveness. Only Paul Dillet really rivalled him in terms of sheer size.

I realize that 10 years ago things were a little different. He just looks really flat to me. He would need to be 350 on-stage at his height to look good. We are talking PRO bodybuilders. I realize he is tall and that in itself is very impressive, but FOR a PRO he looks stringy. I am between 6'1 and 6'2 so I know it is tough for taller guys to look swole. I'm between 246-248 and I look like a surfer still. I'm not saying that the guy isn't big, but to me he is not jaw dropping. When I was 10 I thought Rocky was a monster...lmao.

Yates was tearing it up in 1993, things weren't *that* much different than they are now.

anyone else notice this in the video? wtf is going on here:
