Betaine and heart health

I've seen a study about betaine, and the conclusionwas that it is very beneficial for one's heart health. So thequestion is like that – I have seen this amino acid in many proteinproducts. Does that mean that they will be passively good for theheart?

Betaine is an all round beneficial amino acid for ourbodies – it is great for the brain, muscles, energy levels, andhelps the liver as well. And yes, it is good for one's heart as well. How beneficial will the protein product be with it is a differentquestion, as it will depend on the amounts of betaine found in them.A medical dosage is 500-2000 mgs per day for those with betainedeficiency, so look for something that will have like 200 mgs fortherapeutic purposes.

A quick tip - never read ONE study. That's a very easy way to get a poor picture based on one lot of research. The internet is full of people with a singular opinion based on looking at one study. Always look at several. The more peer reviewed the better.

Betaine is a very important amino acid for heart health.

If you are going to spend money on a supplement, the best heart health supplements:
1. Fish/krill oil
2. Coenzyme q10
3. Vitamin C

Betaine is a good one. If you want the best one for overall heart health though, go with N2Guard. Combine that with a good diet rich in veggies and lots of exercise. Omega 3's are very important for heart health too.
