Best Weightgainer While ON?????

My amateur opinion: Weight gainers really aren't a good way to add calories to your diet at ALL. Bionic BC and Slash nailed it, FOOD, and that recipe is a variation of the recipe given in the Schwarzenneger encyclopedia of modern bodybuilding, and it does work really well. Keep in mind, it's really hard to gain lbm without getting soft, so say goodbye to the veins in the abs for a few weeks/months.

I use that shake to wash my oats down when I'm gaining. You can also thrown IN some cooked oats to add carbs to it. I also use lecithin in my shakes.

Yes eat these and alot of complex carbs....DO NOT TAKE WEIGHT GAINERS you will put on weight which will be almost only fat...you'll never see your abs again unless you do cardio...stay away from those things IMO I used to take them and got up to 265 but BFAT was at least 20%
 
Maybe something is wrong with me, but I think gainers are a good way to get extra calories. They should not be relied upon, you should always eat as much whole food as possible, but it's not always easy to eat 1,000 calories at every meal. I am 6'1 250 and I still have visible abs and I eat a box of frosted sugar cookies a day. I am stuck at that weight. You guys make it sound like if you eat any extra calories you will turn into a fat ass. You have to have ample calories to put on size period. Trying to keep abs when you bulk if ridiculous. Do I think you should get sloppy like Lee Priest? No, i don't, but to get big sometimes you need to put on some bodyfat. If you want to be on the cover of Runners World that's great, I don't. You aren't factoring in the differences in metabolism, genetics, training intensity, drugs, etc. I'll keep drinking extra calories and getting bigger, while you worry about your abs. I don't mean to sound like a dick, it just angers me when people hold other people back.

I agree. I think Gregory's shake was the best shake instead of food though!
 
Weight gainers that arent too excessive with calories may be used PW, when high GI carbs are needed, but beyond that, stay away from them. Eat lots of good food. Some MRPs have respectable ingedients such as Lean Mass Matrix, Myoplex Deluxe (new formula), and VPX's MRP. Adding some natty pb or flax would be a good start if you're havin a toguh time. What's you diet look like?
 
I agree that commercial weightgainers are probably bad. But a home-made drink with milk, eggs, protein powder, etc. is okay. You cant argue "Steak!" unless you're suggesting he liquify it in a blender and chug it. "weightgainers" are fast extra calories/protein in between meals. Not everyone has time to sit down to 6 broiled/grilled/fried (whatever!) meals of fresh fish/chicken/beef.
 
Is there any weightgainers on the market that aren't just filled with shit. Can they put complex carbs into them, or is it all just sugar?
